They both nod. Duncan glances at me. “Stonehenge.”
“That’s a powerful place, the stars are in our favor,” Nathan says, leaning forward to trace the ley lines running through the site.
“So you want to get yourself kidnapped, ransomed and rescued before tomorrow night is over?” Zee checks.
“That’s the plan. What’s the best time for a spell?”
“Midnight,” Duncan says.
“Should I bring a black cat and pointy hat too?”
He rolls his eyes. “Midnight is when the moon will be at its highest point, that’s midnight UK time, here it would be eight pm.”
“Oh, that seems logical.”
“Not unusual for you to miss the logic,” Zac mutters.
I glare at him before glancing at my phone. “We have less than twenty-four hours to make this work.”
Zee drums his hand on the table. “How are you going to arrange the meet? Please don’t tell me you have Ty’s number in your phone, it’s one step too far into crazy I am not willing to follow.”
“No, I don’t have his number, but a well-placed call to a friend will ensure he gets the message. Where do we want this to go down?”
“How about the warehouse in Seattle?” Duncan says. “It’s familiar to us all.”
“Not me,” Emi mutters.
“We have to expect a trap. I would say we keep some of our man power back until we know what we are dealing with,” I suggest.
Zac nods. “Good idea, he will expect your five, but not the rest of us. We can hang back whilst you confront him.”
“Make it look authentic,” Zee says, “you can’t just walk in with your hands raised in surrender.”
“No, we fight. But as we aren’t trying to kill him, and he knows that, it shouldn’t be too difficult to engineer my abduction.”
I stand and stretch my arms. I could do with a solid eight hours of sleep, but that can wait until we’ve averted the apocalypse. “I need to call a demon about a god,” I mutter.
“There are so many things wrong with that statement,” Zac says.
I grin, already pulling up Ant’s number. “Says the god who taught humans how to embalm someone alive.”
“Emi?” I ask.
She doesn’t even flinch.“Yes?”
“Can you meet me in my room in a few minutes?”
“Sure.”
Chapter Twenty-Eight
Natia
Taurus: if betrayed, expect them to burn your fucking world down.
Emi enters my room like a whirlwind seconds after I asked Ant to relay a message to Lawrence, who would give it to Ty. It pays to have demon friends. She bounces on the bed next to me. “What’s up, bestie? Want me to pulverize War for being an asshole? Want me to kick some demon butt? How about Archan, did he treat you well tonight?”
I blink. “I can handle Zac, feel free to kick demon butt anytime you want, and Archan…”
