“Lukyan! Shut up,” Illayana snapped.

“You shut up,” he barked back.

I rolled my eyes. Lukyan was so much like Vin it was actually a little scary.

Illayana looked over my shoulder as the twins walked through the front door and stood behind me.

"Who are they?" she frowned, her face scrunching up in confusion.

I moved to stand beside her, sweeping my hand out in front of me. “This is Christian and Luca D'Arco. They'll be shadowing you from now on."

Christian and Luca took a step forward and bowed slightly. "Ma'am," they said at the same time in that creepy way of theirs.

They were both dressed in identical black suits, making it even more difficult for people to tell them apart. Not that I ever had that issue. I've always been able to tell them apart.

"She doesn't like being called Ma'am," Lorenzo's stony voice called out as he stepped into the foyer. He moved quickly to stand beside Luca, dressed in his usual all black attire.

"Boss," he tilted his head in a greeting.

“If she doesn't like being called Ma'am," Christian began.

"Then what do we call her?" Luca finished, cocking his head to the side, studying Illayana. They had a tendency to finish each other’s sentences like that.

Lorenzo shook his head and gave a sigh of exasperation. "How about her name, idiota's?" Idiots?

Christian and Luca exchanged a look with one another, "Riggggght. Her name," they said in unison, their brows drawn together in concentration.

I shook my head and chuckled slightly. They were great fighters, loyal to the bone. But, common sense sometimes eluded those two.

"No offense to you guys, but I've already got bodyguards, I don't need anymore. I'm fine with Lorenzo and Adrian."

"It's non-negotiable," I stated firmly. "You'll take them, and I'll hear no more on the matter."

She turned and pinned me with an icy glare, her anger starting to slowly surface. "Arturo. Four guards is excessive. Not to mention the fact they don't exactly blend in," she said, running a hand through the air in front of the twins.

Okay, she did kind of have a point. They were big blokes. And I wasn’t too insecure to admit they were handsome dudes, too. They gathered quite a bit of attention when we walked on the streets. Men and women ogled them constantly like they had never seen identical twins before. Not that they ever seemed to mind. Still, I trusted them with my life and I knew if the situation ever called for it, they would die to protect me. Just like I know they would do the same for Illayana.

"I don't care. You'll do what I say. You don't go anywhere without Christian, Luca and Lorenzo. Do you understand me?"

Lukyan laughed. A full blown, top of the lungs, shrieking like a damn monkey laugh. We all turned to look at him, confused as fuck. Well, everyone except Illayana. She was giving me a mean death glare, her brows drawn together and her face turning red. I could feel the heat of that gaze burning a hole into the side of my face.

Lukyan continued to laugh, hunched over and slapping his hands on his thighs like he just heard the world’s funniest joke.

Christian looked at Luca, his face contorted in confusion and mouthedwhat the fuck.

Luca shrugged.

Suddenly, Illayana turned and speed walked out of the foyer without so much as a glance at me.

"Illayana!" I called out, but she continued walking.

The twins and Lorenzo exchanged an awkward glance with one another while Lukyan continued to laugh. My temper spiked. I felt a flash of irritation flow through my body.

"What the fuck are you laughing at?!" I snapped, pinning my anger on Lukyan. Seemed like the perfect outlet to me.

Lukyan's eyes sparkled with amusement as he straightened and looked at me, his body still shaking with laughter. "There's only one man...one man in this world who can tell my sister what to do. And you ain't him."

I narrowed my eyes. "And who is that?"
