She wraps her arms around me possessively, and it’s adorable.
“We’re taking off,” the escort says.
“You can do that?” she asks.
“I no longer work here,” the woman says, smiling.
“I’ve agreed to let her make an honest woman out of me,” the member says, smiling wide, too.
“What?” I ask.
“I only came here tonight to tell her that I’ve officially separated from my awful husband. I have my own place now, and I’m taking her to it.”
She pulls the now-former escort against her side.
“We’re going to give it a shot,” the woman says.
“Crazy, huh?” the member asks, looking at me and then looking over at her.
“Yeah, crazy,” I say sarcastically. “Good luck.”
“Thanks,” they say together and walk down the hall hand in hand.
“Crazy,” she says. “I mean, what are the odds of a couple finding love in this place?”
I pinch her shoulder.
She laughs and says, “I do, you know.”
“What? Think it’s crazy?”
“No,” she says, pressing her lips to mine for a second. “Love you.”
“Oh, baby,” I reply, cupping her chin. “Can tonight be your last night, too?”
“Working?”
“Yes.”
“You want me all to yourself?” she teases.
“Yes, unless we’re with them or doing something together, I want you all to myself.”
“I want you all to myself, too,” she replies, kissing my forehead.
“How are you with the whole money thing? Can you afford to quit?”
“Let’s escape so they still pay me for tonight. Then, I’ll be good. My contract is over, and I don’t have to renew.”
“Or, you could renew,” I say.
“I’m confused,” she says.
“As a member,” I reply.
“Member? I can’t afford–”
“I’ll pay. It’ll be a very nice gift for myself.”
