I move my mouth back to hers, and she kisses me, sucks on my tongue, and nibbles on my lip until she starts moving faster. I kiss her until she comes. Then, I watch.
“Yes. Oh, baby. Yes, this one is…”
“What? Tell me.”
“This one is the best,” she says as she rocks.
I look up at her. Her eyes are closed, but there’s a tear falling down her cheek. I wipe it away with my thumb and keep watching. She crashes into me a few seconds later, her head on my shoulder, breathing hard.
“Are you okay?” I ask her.
“Yes,” she says and sniffles. “I just need…” She lifts up to let the toy come out. Then, she stands. “I’ll be right back, okay?”
“Can I get you anything?”
“No, just a minute,” she says.
She disappears into the bathroom, and I’m left wondering what’s going on. I take off the shorts, tossing the whole thing to the floor to worry about later. A minute later, though, she returns with a smile on her face. It looks a little forced, but I don’t say anything. I lie down on the sofa and open my arms.
“Can I ask you something?” I say as I hold her.
“Yes,” she replies.
“Have you been with anyone since last time?” I ask, swallowing and wondering if she can feel it.
“No,” she says.
“Have you wanted to be with anyone?”
“Not exactly,” she says.
“What’s that mean?” I ask next, my heart beating wildly now.
“I went on a date,” she says.
“Oh, right.”
“It was just coffee,” she says.
“But you like her?”
“She’s nice. We don’t really know each other yet,” she replies.
“When will you see her again?” I ask, knowing I have no right to.
“Maybe next weekend; I don’t know. Have you been dating?” she asks.
“No, I’ve been trying to figure out my aunt’s stuff.”
“Of course. Have you?”
“Have I what?”
“Figured it out?”
“Yeah. I’ve decided to keep the house, and I’m making plans to fix it up now.”
“That’s great,” she says but sounds off.
