Chapter Forty

While Kayti slept, Murphy touched, rubbed and caressed for as long as he could keep his mind active and sleep at bay. He spooned with her and loved having her nakedness under his control. Her beautiful body, supine and trusting, warm and smooth.

He’d never reached heights of satisfaction such as he’d experienced with Kayti. No other female ever mattered as much, not even close. Never even knew such wild emotion could be possible.

Now that he’d made love with a woman solely created for him, he couldn’t envision ever wanting or taking another. Which meant, he needed to keep her safe, here in his house under his constant protection… forever.

Jesus! He had it bad.

Keeping her cocooned might be difficult. If she knew that they’d arrested the asshole who’d stolen her phone, she’d skedaddle back to her own place. And he’d be under constant stress from worrying about her. Just the idea ramped up his unease. Another trait no one else knew about him. When he loved someone, he had no choice. Their protection became paramount.

But he had her with him now, warm and safe. His eyes closed. He knew nothing until she wriggled against him the next morning and his body’s automatic reaction was to swell with delight. She immediately became enthused with the situation and her kisses proved she was more than willing to carry on where they’d left off the night before.

Only this morning, he took the lead. Within a very short time, they were both aroused from kissing, touching and rubbing their nakedness against one another.

Murmurs of appreciation were heard as much from her as him. Her breath caught when he entered her, then resumed at a louder pitch, her gasps filled with pleasure.

Within seconds, his control gone, he rose to the same heights he’d reached the night before.

Lost, his rougher side took over, encouraged by her urging, begging for more… “harder, yes, like that, love me.”

Reality floated, dreamlike, his bones overcooked noodles, he cuddled her to him with the thought that he never wanted to let her go.

So much for my wondering if last night was a one-time experience.
