Now Misti seemed more of the next-door neighbor kind of chick if one lived in a wealthy part of the city. Since her father was a Senator, no doubt she did.

She wore her brown hair short with a natural curl and one side shaved close to her head. Plenty of cute earrings, a diamond nose ornament and a bunch of woven bracelets gave her a look of someone popular.

Her jean outfit could be seen in any designer shop in the rich part of the city. Not only did it look modern and expensive, it was the opposite of sexy. Her brown eyes were clear and scared.

Kayti felt an immediate protectiveness for this one and would have stepped forward agreeing they should get the hell out of there. Before she intervened, the blonde turned and opened the door.

At the last minute, the cutie caught Kayti’s eyes in the mirror and smiled in a sweet way of hello – the way strangers sometimes did when they had no reason not to be friendly.

Kayti followed as soon as she’d found enough paper to dry her hands and was just in time to see Gina urging her new friend toward the back of the place. Christ, was that Draper with her prompting the girl from behind? Manhandling her in a way that gave her no chance to refuse.

Stepping forward to put a stop to this bullshit, Kayti spoke up, “Hey assholes, let the kid be. She doesn’t want to go with you.” Not sure if she should call out her FBI credentials, they were supposed to be undercover after all, she decided to wing it and just pull a citizen’s interference play.

“Go fuck yourself, lady. She’s my sister. I’m taking her home.” Draper spoke loudly but didn’t bother to stop.

One of the other fellows at their table, more Misti’s age, tried to pull himself to his feet. Either he had visions of preventing them from taking his girl. Or maybe to tag along himself. But got his shoe caught up in the table legs, and he fell to the floor.

Kayti saw the other chick locking arms with Misti, hauling her out the back door. And she wasn’t being gentle. It came through loud and clear, whatever was going down, blondie was involved.

Heading over to where Misti still argued, Kayti came up against a wall of men ready to stop her. Before she could even begin to talk her way out of the mess, one attacked, and the others decided to join in the party.

Out of the corner of her eye, Kayti saw the poor kid fighting to get free, then lose the battle as they hauled her out the back door.
