“I don’t have to worry because I locked them all away so she can’t get to them while we are gone,” he announced with a haughty grin. “Now my girl will be safe and sound until we return.”

Laughter bubbled out of me at their antics as I took my seat and picked up my fork. I glanced over to see what Oscar was doing and when I read the first part I snorted. He was writing out care instructions on how to take care of me like you would for a babysitter. All their phone numbers were written down. Instructions on how to work the TV, what the alarm code was for the house, and extra keys to the cars if I needed to get away quickly.

“Oscar,” I said, drawing his attention. “Just how long are you planning on being gone?”

He held up two fingers, then shrugged and put up a third.

“I’m fairly certain I can manage to keep myself alive for two or three hours. I’ve been doing it since I was eight,” I reminded him. “Although I have to admit knowing how to work the TV upstairs will be helpful, there are so many buttons.”

Oscar smiled softly and stroked my cheek with a finger before he resumed his work. Meanwhile, the others made simple meals or smoothies to eat, all dressed in business attire except for Bodhi, and I bet he didn’t have anything remotely close to business style clothing. The clock struck eight, and Marius waved at the others to follow.

“Oscar we’re taking your wheels since we can all fit,” he announced, then kissed me breathless, leaving behind the taste of his coffee. “We will see you soon, don’t answer the door and the phone will tell you if it’s one of us. If it doesn’t say our name let it ring, they can leave a message.”

“Got it,” I answered with a sharp nod.

With kisses from all my other men they left, leaving me alone for the first time in a week and it took everything in me not to run after them. I looked down at my pancakes and suddenly they didn’t taste as good. Not wanting Bodhi to think I didn’t like them I made myself eat them. Once finished I washed, dried, and put my dish away giving the kitchen a once over before heading up to my room to lose myself in The Little Princess once more.
