Adalyn left her uncle’s study and flew up the stairs, eager to share the good news. She opened the drawing room door and rushed in, only to bump into Louisa.

Her cousin’s face was bright red. “Oh! Adalyn! I . . . must leave.”

Louisa hurried out.

She turned—and saw the Duke of Camden standing there.

Marching up to him, Adalyn shoved him hard in the chest.
