“I am yours,” she told him. “And you are mine.” Her hands came up and framed his face. “We are each other’s.”
Spencer liked that. “We belong to one another. We will wed.”
She smiled wryly. “There you go. Telling me what to do again. You should at least ask me, Spencer.”
“I would do anything to please you,” he said earnestly.
Dropping to one knee, he took her hands in his and gazed up into the face of the woman he loved.
Yes, loved.
He didn’t know when it had happened. He wouldn’t question how. Spencer only knew that he loved Tessa Foster fiercely and would go to the ends of the earth for her.
“Tessa, I love you. I won’t hide that fact from you.”
Her jaw dropped.
“I want to marry you. I want you to be my countess. I want to make a family with you. I want to go to sleep with you in my arms and awaken and find you still there. I want to grow old with you. And, God, I want to kiss you every minute of every day.”
She beamed at him. “I love you, Spencer. I didn’t know I did until just now. But I know my love is true and everlasting.”
“Be mine, Tessa. Be my wife and my life. Will you do that?”
“Yes. A thousand times yes!”
Spencer sprang to his feet.
And kissed her again.
