Hope didn’t move as I pulled away and straightened. She continued to lay splayed open in front of me, knowing not to hide herself from me. Her body was mine, and I took pride in that glistening pussy showing me how damn ready she was for me. But unfortunately, I had shit to take care of—like Colton Riggs.
I righted my collar and walked to the bedroom door. “I don’t know when I’ll be done.”
“Master,” she called out.
I stopped and turned to face her. She had twisted onto her stomach to look at me. “May I…”
“No, not today,” I interrupted. “Today, you will remain here, in this room. Understood?”
Her dark brown gaze dropped to the mattress beneath her, her shoulders sagging with disappointment. But right now, I didn’t have the time or the patience to give a fuck. I couldn’t risk her being seen. Not today…nor any other day.
“Understood?” I barked out.
She nodded, looking somewhat defeated. “Yes, master.”
“Good, now eat your breakfast. You know what will happen if you don’t.”
I stepped out, closed the door, and turned the key in the lock. She had everything she needed right there in that room. That room had been designed specifically for times like these when I needed her completely hidden from the world. But if everything went according to plan, that would soon change.
As I walked down the hall, I placed the chain with the key around my neck. I always wore the key as a necklace. I needed to keep it close to my chest, like a dangerous secret, because that key opened the door to my most prized possession—her.
A few black and white paintings against the wall lent the long corridor a bit of interest. I had to admit, I didn’t do much to this place after my father lost his life. I didn’t plan on staying here in the long term. Once my plan had been executed, I would take my pretty little Butterfly and create our own paradise somewhere far, far away from this hellhole.
I walked through the door at the end of the hallway and closed it behind me. The door clicked as the light above the keypad turned red, indicating that the door had been locked. Every security measure was in place when it came to her. No one was going to take her from me. She was mine and would stay that way till the day I died. In fact, I might even take her to hell with me.
Making my way down the spiral staircase, I mentally prepared myself for the day ahead. Finally, after years of planning and strategizing, the final chess piece had been put into place, and it was now time to start playing the game.
“Good morning, Mr. Cain.”
I looked up and straight at that chess piece I had been waiting for.
“Mr. Riggs,” I greeted politely as I took the last step. “How was your first night here at the Cain mansion?”
“Good, thank you, Mr. Cain.”
“Did you choose a suitable room for yourself?” I walked toward the dining room, and Colton followed.
“I did. Everything is great, thank you.”
“That’s good to hear.” I glanced over my shoulder and cocked an eyebrow. “Did you enjoy the welcoming gift I sent you?”
Colton paused, and immediately I saw the guilt in his eyes. It was a look I knew all too well. I knew Colton wasn’t there to enjoy all the perks of being under my employment. He was here on a personal mission—a mission to take her away.
Over my dead fucking body.
But all the pleasures this life had to offer were too tempting for any man to deny. Not even a man like Colton, who was fueled with determination and morals he thought unbreakable.
“Yes, it was quiteentertaining, thank you, Mr. Cai—”
“Please.” I took my seat at the table. “Mr. Cain was my father. Call me Rex.” I indicated for him to take a seat across from me. “Join me for breakfast.”
Colton remained standing. “I’m not an early eater.”
“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So, I insist.” I nodded toward the chair.
For a few seconds, he simply stared at me. If I were a less observant man, I might have missed the subtle look of animosity in his dark eyes. But I saw it, the way he looked at me as if he was staring right at the Devil himself. It almost made me smile with glee.
“Okay,” Colton conceded and took a seat across from me. He kept his scrutinizing gaze on me, and the way his brows furrowed ever so slightly, I knew he was cautious.Good.
