“Yes, it is.”
She knelt to collect the items that had fallen from her bag. I squatted beside her.
“I’m not sure of your reasons for joining the dating agency, but I think they’ve paid off for both of us. We’re clearly attracted to each other.” I picked up a Mercedes matchbox car and stared at it quizzically. Why would she have a child’s toy in her purse?
She quickly snatched it and tossed it back into the bag. She shot to her feet and I followed.
“Olivia.”
She paused. “I’ll see you on Friday, okay? The charity thing.”
“The auction?”
“Right. I’ll meet you there. I promise.”
We stared at each other. She swayed toward me and I found myself leaning toward her again. Then, with a growl, she spun around and unlocked her car.
“See you Friday, beautiful.”
She rolled her eyes as she reversed. “Okay, Mr. Suave. See you on Friday.”
I chuckled and watched her car until her taillights were swallowed up in the traffic.
