“Buy her flowers?”

I force out a heavy breath. I’ve never bought flowers for any woman. It’s never crossed my mind.Because that’s what people in a relationship do.

“Jericho.” Nan says my name as if it’s a curse word.

“I’ve never given flowers before. Is that still even a thing? Isn’t it old fashioned?”

“Maybe so, but it’s a way to make her feel special.”

I shrug. I thought dancing and talking showed her what she’s come to mean to me.

After spending a while with Nan, chatting about art classes more than anything, I call Emily’s Florist Café and organise an arrangement to be sent to Liv tomorrow.

It might make me look desperate, but regardless, I want her to know my feelings for her haven’t changed.

Maybe she just needs some time. While I give her that, I need her to know she’s on my mind.
