Ace shook his head. “Trying to rehab the busted arm.”
“Better to hone your strengths than to try to pretend like you don’t have a weakness.” Lucas’s stare was kind.
“We have a range in the basement.” Ace looked to Liam and then over at Ruby. “Maybe if they don’t need us for a bit, we could get in some practice sometime.”
“Sure, that sounds good.” Lucas nodded.
Ace surprised Liam by turning and wandering away with Lucas instead of hanging with him and JRad. As they started to talk privately, he thought he heard Ace say, “Nah. Nothing like that. I’m too dumb for her and too weak for him. Especially now.”
Liam’s guts clenched. He was going to have to talk to his partner soon. But every time he tried, it ended up like the night before had. With his tongue down Ace’s throat and his hands on his ass. It was much easier to fuck than to talk.
“Looks like you’ve gotten yourself in one hell of a tough spot here.” JRad clapped Liam on the shoulder. “Don’t worry. We’ll figure it out.”
Liam wondered what it would be like to be JRad or Lucas, so in control of his own life and at peace with himself. If JRad could help him figure this shit out, he would listen. “I’m open to advice.”
“That’s a great place to start.” JRad smiled. “Come on, let’s help Ruby and James carry this shit.”
Liam nodded and got to work. At least that was easy.
