Mikail tips his head to the side. “Zade, it is not in our best interest to share all the answers you seek.”

Anger burns through me, but Cassius rests his hand on my shoulder and turns me toward him. “Zade will do what it takes. We are the saviors, or have you forgotten our power and strength? It is important that he knows why we are after Raven now. The complete truth.”

“What are you talking about, Cassius?” I ask, my heart picking up pace.

“We found Elias’s soul.” Cassius holds my stare. “The situation is far worse than we could have ever imagined.”

My eyes widen with his words. “You found him? Where?”

Unfurling his wings, Cassius shifts on his feet. He turns to the angelic army and says, “Come with me, and I’ll show you myself. It’s better if you see, so you can prepare.”

Prepare for what? I have no idea, and I have a feeling no one will tell me.

“We’re counting on you, Zade,” Mikail says, squeezing my other shoulder. “All of humanity is.”

If only it didn’t feel as if they were counting on me to fail and fall. If only it didn’t feel as if the path they try to push me on was the wrong one.

Please, Your Grace. Give me your light to find my way.

The world shifts around us as Cassius pulls me into the Mortal Realm and on humanity’s plane.

And then I see it.

The brightest, most devastatingly beautiful light. It’s not the Higher Power’s light I’ve needed all along. It’s Raven’s.

Things become clear.

Chapter 6

KASE

Touching Grace

RAVEN SITS ON Dante’s lap beside me. There are too many devils in such a small room that our soul sparkles with sweat from our heat. It doesn’t help that Micah sits within a summoning circle, letting in the rank stench of his kingdom. Raven insisted that we all meet together, and I know that she feels awful for Micah because he took the tether to Hell, so she tries extra hard to include everyone even though it’s not necessary. No one will tell her otherwise. Not now, at least.

“I think it’s time to relocate Raven again. I don’t trust Zade not to give away our location.” Dante bounces his feet, giving Raven a little ride on his lap. The fucker unintentionally turns me on. It’s like Raven knows his intent, because she snatches my tail and squeezes like it’s a damn thing to brace on.

I grunt and twist my tail around her wrist, dragging her from Dante and onto my lap instead. She wiggles her ass, teasing me even more. If everyone weren’t watching us, I’d get up and start banging her right here, right now. Fuck it, I still might.

“I don’t think he will,” Andre says as he shifts on the edge of the coffee table like he needs to be close to Raven. The horny bastard flares his nostrils, and I’m sure he catches the scent of Raven’s desire. So he’s probably drooling over mine too. Hmm, maybe I should give him what he wants. Everyone could use a good show to calm their balls down.

“Oh, he so fucking will.” Lucian crosses his arms, leaning against the far wall of the apartment like he needs to keep space between himself and Raven. I bet it drives his cock nuts seeing her with me now. I know his ass still plans to fuck her the second he gets, but I’m not going to make it easy. She’s my soul next. He’s just going to have to wait and learn his lesson for his bullshit. I love punishing the bastard, especially after all the shit he’s pulled over the centuries.

Raven tries to slide off my lap, but I don’t let her. She gives in and leans back against my chest instead of fighting me. She knows better. Fuck, I know she likes it when I’m in control of her. “Where will we go?” Raven asks, peering at the rest of the devils and then to Dante. “I don’t want to hide from Zade. I still need to make him jump. It’s more important than ever. Don’t you think?”

“What’s important is that you stay safe until we find Elias.” Micah speaks up from the crackling circle of fire. “We still have plenty of time to work on Zade. Maybe keeping your distance will drive him crazy enough that he will realize how much he wants to be around you.”

“I think Micah is right. Look out the window. Zade is close.” Andre twirls his finger toward the glowing light, radiating in between the cracks in the curtain. “It’s been a while since he showed himself to me.”

“Maybe he comes with more answers for us,” Raven says, turning to look at me. “I think we should invite him in.”

“Only if you go to my room, get your sexy ass undressed, and prepare to corrupt him.” I get to my feet with Raven and smack her ass, making her jump. “Use your seductive little mouth on him. Don’t let him get away with denying you. I’ll hold him down if I have to.”

Raven lifts an eyebrow at me. “You are so dirty and psycho, you horny bastard. I love it. Meet me there in five.”

Dante play-growls. “You better run, pretty soul. Because I am taking you first.”

Squealing, Raven yanks from the hold on my tail and dashes down the hallway. Dante wags his eyebrows at me and winks, following behind her. I hope he’s prepared for what he’s about to get into. There’s no way that if Zade makes it into my room, that he’s getting out without having a good time, and I don’t need Dante getting jealous.
