Darius Fischer
Was she seriously flirting with thathuman? In front of him?Darius was beyond furious, his body shaking with rage.
Don’t make a scene, control yourself.
But how could henotmake a scene when his lifeblood so casually did this while he was standing right behind her? Her seductive face was entirely too close to that man’s. Even worse? He was eating it up. Her act wasworking, and she was loving it!
No. He refused to sit and watch this happen. He needed to do something about this, and he needed to do something about thisnow.
His instinct roared.She’s mine!
Yes - he had admittedly been distant from her the last several days. But how could he find the courage to speak with her when she saw him as the vile monster he already knew he was?
He couldn’t face talking to her. He thought of it though, several times. But the shame he felt over being a monstrous vampire overpowered his emotions every time, forcing him to recede into the quiet.
Bu now? He saw no other choice.
When she twisted on her stool and looked back at both him and his sister, giddily saying, “That’sher! That’s the girl we’re looking for!” He pounded his fist against the bar.
“You alright, Darius?” Annoyance oozed from Eva’s lips. She knew he wasn’t alright, but she didn’t seem to care. He couldn’t blame her. She tried so many times to spark up a conversation between the two of them the last several days. He denied her every time.
But now he was far from alright.
Without another word he lurched forward and grabbed Eva by the hand, dragging her out of the bar. She stumbled off her stool but didn’t resist him.
As he stormed out, he heard the man mutter behind them, “Another one bites the dust.”
Another one bites the dust? She wasn’t yours to begin with!Gods, he was livid. It took everything in him to not march back and break that human’s nose.
Once they were outside, the door slamming shut behind them, he brought Eva to the side of the pub, which was enveloped in darkness, and pushed Eva’s body against the its wall. “What thefuckdo you think you were doing?”
She shrugged, a sly grin spreading across her face. “Did I piss off the vampire who’s been ignoring me the last few days? Awe, what a shame.”
“Did you forget what I am to you?” He firmly held her shoulders against the wall behind her. She didn’t protest. In fact, he noticed amusement flicker over her eyes.
“I might be everything to you, but let’s not forget you’renothingto me. I’myourlifeblood. You’re not mine.” Her words were a bleak reminder of the blaring truth. Shewaseverything to him, but that didn’t mean he was anything to her.
And after how he’d been treating her, why should he be?
Though thinking back on it, hedidmean something to her. Not only was she obviously attracted to him, but she risked her life by lying to Artem… to save his.
Which meant she was lying.
“Oh, I’m nothing to you?” He’d show her how wrong she was. Just to prove himself, he shoved his hips against her stomach. Her response was instant, her body arching up to his. He raised a taunting brow. “I believe it’s about time you to stop lying to me.”
“You don’t know what’s going on in my head,” she spat back.
Was she really trying to keep up this charade?I’ll just have to keep giving until she can no longer resist.“Don’t I?” He released one of her shoulders, bringing his hand between her legs and cupping her sex. “Why don’t you show me what’s going on in your head? After saying this, he began massaging her by pressing his palm against her jeans.
Her hips were rocking, though her lips remained sealed. In response to her silence, he commanded, “Show. Me.”
“I don’t want someone who thinks they own me.”
Did she not understand she was his? “Don’t you?” He rasped, lifting her in his arms and falling to his knees, bringing her down with him. “You don’t want me?” He asked, knowing very well that she wanted him.
When she hesitantly shook her head, he couldn’t stop himself from smirking.
He laid her down, her back pressing against the rocks below her. He spread her thighs apart, pressing his legs between them while maneuvering his body over hers. “You don’t want me?” He repeated.
