"People who are against mixing species."
"Oh. No. He's not like that. He's just got a hang up with vampires is all."
"Hmph."
Loud thumping footsteps echoed around her and she frowned, turning her head from side to side. Someone was stomping down the stairs and whoever it was, was livid. Maddox rounded the corner a moment later in a hot, blazing fury.
Warty and pimply faced, he stomped into the room, the intensity of his anger so strong Zamorra was actually a little afraid for Navi. The pixie better hope he never gets his hands on her.
Margaret gasped in shock. "Maddox! What on earth happened to you?"
Maddox ignored her. He glared at Zamorra instead, red seeping into his green eyes. "Where is it?" He growled.
"Where's what?" She sang, playing dumb.
"The pixie! Tell me where it is."
"Pixie?" Margaret frowned.
"I don't know where she is."
"Bullshit! Get it to undo this!" He yelled, pointing at his hideous face.
"Ah, such mischievous little creatures, aren't they?" Margaret whispered with humour.
"How do you expect me to do that? She doesn't listen to me."
"Then tell me where it is and I'll deal with it."
Zamorra spread her arms wide and smiled. "Your guess is as good as mine."
He pointed a finger and scowled. "Mark my words, I'll find that stupid pixie and when I do, she is gonna pay." Maddox stood tall, gesturing wildly to the room. "You hear that?!" He yelled. "I will find you!" In a huff, he blurred away, running through the house searching.
In true pixie style, Navi appeared the second Maddox left the room with a smug, humorous expression on her face.
"Navi."
The pixie spun to face her and Zamorra tried her best to put on her 'you're in trouble' face, but she could feel her lips twitching. "Go fix his face before he murders you in your sleep."
Navi pouted, her shoulders slumping in disappointment. Zamorra couldn't help but chuckle at the sadness on the poor pixie's face. She tried to cheer her up.
"Look, I dig your style, but you gotta pick your battles. It's probably not a smart move to piss off the people you're gonna live with."
Unlike DeVos, there weren't a bunch of rules in place protecting Navi from retaliation. So, it was up to Zamorra.
Navi nodded solemnly and zoomed away, leaving a trail of pixie dust in her wake.
Zamorra sighed, closing her eyes as she leaned back further into the couch. What else was this damn night gonna throw at her?
"Sooooo..." Margaret dragged out "when is your uncle coming back?"
Zamorra ran a hand down her face and groaned.
She gripped onto the tree with her sharp claws, digging deep into the bark. She vaulted upwards, climbing higher and higher with each swipe of her clawed hands until she reached the very top. She perched herself comfortably on a large, thick branch and stood to her full height, head peeking out through the bushy foliage.
The moon shone brightly in the night, stars scattered all around encasing the sky in a light of wonder. She inhaled deeply, letting the cool air fill her lungs, then she howled. She howled until her breath ran out and she had nothing left to give.
After a few moments another howl echoed back to her, Void's werewolf answering her call.
