Thane adjusted easily and flipped, shifting into his werewolf form in mid-air. His shredded clothes floated down around him like leaves falling in autumn as he landed in a crouch, snarling at her viciously.
A beautiful mix of orange and red fur covered his thick, muscular body, his razor-sharp claws sparking across the floor with a flex of his clawed hands. Saliva drippedfrom his lips, his once brown eyes now gold and blazing with fury.
She eyed the werewolf in front of her warily, sizing him up.
He was unknown to her. An opponent she had not faced before. Powerful for sure. Lethal, of that she had no doubt. She would be foolish to underestimate him.But he was only a Beta. Lower level. She could take him. She just had to unleash the power that made her an Alpha.
She growled low in her throat, releasing waves and waves of her dominance. It curled around him tightly, suffocating him. Choking him. Smothering him in her power and authority.
He struggled against it, against the strength she wielded, but his efforts were not enough.Frustration flared on his face and his upper lip curled back in a frightening snarl.
She took a step forward, dispensing another burst of her domination.
The werewolf growled in pain and his body lowered a fraction to the floor against his will.
Not enough.
She huffed, expelling smoke from hersnoutand puffed out her chest, taking another step forward, demanding his entire submission.
His legs buckled and he collapsed to his knees, growling aggressively and baring his canines. His whole body shook uncontrollably as he tried to fight against her, but his level of dominance was no match for hers.
Inch by agonising inch he descended, crumbling like a sandcastle on the beach until his chin touched the ground.
Complete submission. Exactly what she wanted. Her chest rumbled in satisfaction.
She admired the fight he had. Most would have submitted instantly, but this werewolf refused to godowneasily. He did better than any other lower-level Beta she'd ever come across before.
Closing the space between them quickly, she kicked him onto his back and stood over him, her silver eyes glowing brighter than the sun.
The werewolf tried to rise and she placed a clawed foot on his chest, pushing him back down.
He snapped his teeth viciously, trying to fight her again but the Alpha always wins.
She roared, unleashing a torrent of powerful Alpha energy and it slammed him hard back into the ground, cracking the marble flooring.
The werewolf whimpered and didn't try again.
A slow clap made her snap her head up, eyes narrowed into slits.Barnabas smiled, his hands slowly clapping together as he straightened and watched her intently. Gideon joined him at his side, wiping splinters of wood from his jacket with an annoyed look on his face. He took a step in her direction and Barnabas raised a hand, halting him.
"Very impressive," the Alpha cooed.
She snarled. Impressing him was the last thing she wanted to do.
The werewolf at her feet began to struggle again and a hot, blinding rage consumed her. She tore into his exposed chest, sinking her claws deep into his flesh. He howled in agonising pain, the sweet sound bringing a smile to her lips as she curled her fingers tightly around his beating heart and yanked it out faster than the speed of light.
Blood spurted all over her, staining her silver fur bright red and she licked her lips hungrily. She locked eyes with Barnabas as she slowly brought the heart to her mouth, sinking her canines into the muscular organ and savouring that warm, delicious taste.
The dead werewolf reverted back to his human form, a wide gaping hole in the centre of his chest and his brown eyes cold and lifeless. If she was being honest, they didn't look that much different than before.
His death was too quick,Zamorra said, annoyed, and she agreed but she didn't have the time to drag it out like she preferred.
"Looks like that backstabbing, good for nothing Oriondidteach you something useful," Barnabas commented, running his eyes up and down her body. "You're bonded."
Anger flared in her mind.Kill him! Rip his fucking head off!Zamorra roared, savagely.
Zamorra's rage flooded her body and she dropped to all fours, squelching what was left of the werewolf's heart in her hand into the ground and slowly stalked ahead.
She crept forward like a predator hunting their prey, low to the ground, eyes never leaving her target, Zamorra's anger helping to fuel her own. It was time to get their revenge.
