"You feel my were, don't you? You feel him reaching out to you?"

"Y-yes."

"Focus on the familial bond we share, Zo. Pull on it and let it power you."

She listened to her uncle's words carefully and tried to focus on the connection in their blood, but that piercing howl just wouldn't relent, wouldn't lessen. It rang through her head over and over again and she honestly thought she was going to go mad. She groaned in pure agony and closed her eyes, wishing the world would just swallow her whole and put her out of her misery.

"Fuck, it's not working! It's not strong enough." Void faltered, worry flashing on his face. "We have to knock her out."

"What?!" Luther barked. "Tell me what's going on, now."

"I don't have time to explain! Just listen to me. It's not going to stop. We need to knock her out fast."

"I'll do it!" Darius said excitedly, raising a hand and stepping forward.

Luther growled, warning him not to take another step and bared his sharp, pointy fangs. He pinned Void with wrathful eyes. "You better explain everything."

Kneeling by her side, Luther took her hands from Void and murmured, "Little Alpha." He softly trailed a finger down the side of her face and Zamorra struggled to open her eyes.

He gave her a small smile and even with all the pain flaring in her mind she couldn't help but think about how breathtakingly handsome he looked when he smiled. He waved a hand over her face, his gold ring glowing faintly and snaring her attention. "Sleep."

* * *

Zamorra knew where she was before she even opened her eyes, Luther's rich, woodsy scent surrounding her like a security blanket. She was in his bedagain, wrapped snugly in those expensive Egyptian cotton sheets. Would she ever get to wake up here without being passed out first?

The piercing howl that brutalised her mind was finally gone and relief instantly filled her. She didn't think she could handle that pain again.

Are you okay?Zamorra asked her werewolf.

After a few quiet seconds, she responded with a weak 'yes'.

You don't sound okay. Do you know what happened?

No,she responded gruffly.

Want me to leave you alone?

Yes.

Alright. I'm here if you need anything.

Zamorra opened her eyes, instantly noticing a pair of glowing red orbs staring at her from the far corner of the room, shrouded in darkness. She snapped them shut as quickly as she could and a deep, throaty chuckle echoed all around her.

"Going back to sleep so soon, Little Alpha? I think you've rested long enough."

"I don't think so," she groaned softly. "I think I need to sleep for the next 15 years. At least." She peeked out of one eye and gasped in shock.

Luther towered over her like a silent guardian angel, staring down with an unreadable expression on his face. He had moved so silently, not making a single sound, that he'd given her the fright of her life.

"I'm very cross with you," he whispered darkly, a tinge of red streaking through his eyes. "I gave you an order."

“Did you?" she replied nonchalantly, shrugging a shoulder. "Must have forgotten." Bracing her palms on the bed, she slowly sat up and leaned back against the headboard. "What happened?"

"I was hoping you could tellmethat." He sat down on the edge of the bed, his heavy weight making it dip down.

"I've got no clue. In all my life I've never experienced anything like it before. It was… horrible." The feeling of that agonising pain flashed through her mind and she shivered, terrified it was going to come back.

Concern washed over Luther and he inched forward. "Are you okay?"
