"Let this be a warning to all. Exposure willnotbe tolerated." Theodora spun on her heels and went back to her seat. She sat gracefully and faced the crowd, eyes fierce and powerful.
I like her, her werewolf commented.
She just killed someone for something that was an accident.
But she did it so well.
The two warrior shifters adjusted their hold on Niya's lifeless body and carried her out of the eerily quiet room.
Luther glanced down at a sheet of paper. "Dragur Florne and Intera Axis - step forward."
Two more supernatural’s rose from their seats, a demon and a light mage. Unlike Niya, they were free of chains.
With determined strides, the demon barrelled through the crowd and stopped before the platform. His tail swished aggressively behind him, like a snake ready to snap, and his nostrils flared in anger. "My Lords," he grunted, bowing.
The light mage moved silently instead of like a raging bull, her magic dancing around her in blasts of white light. She cast the demon a veiled glance and stopped a foot away from him, her sunny blue eyes sparking with anger. Animosity blazed between the two, hotter than the sun, and they glared at one another.
"Who is the complainant?" Ignacio asked, his smooth voice ringing throughout the room, and the demon stepped forward.
"I am, my Lord. Dragur Florne."
"The issue?"
"I paid for a service that was not fulfilled."
"Lies," the light mage, Intera, snarled. White lightning flashed in her eyes and a hit of power laced the air. " I warned him that the Enchantment would not work if he did not follow the instructions properly."
"I followed your ridiculous instructions and it still didn't work!" His tail lashed out, thrashing wildly through the air like a bull whip behind him.
"If you had done it correctly, it would have worked."
Dragur bared his teeth, his black horns lengthening at his rapidly increasing anger. "Ididdo it correctly."
"What was the Enchantment?" Ignacio cut in.
Dragur lifted his chin. "I paid for a Love Enchantment, instead all I got was a useless gold ring."
"The Enchantment wasinthe ring you stupid, half chewed mintie." Intera said, rolling her eyes with derision.
Zamorra laughed. Out loud. She couldn't help it. Her cackle echoed loudly around them, causing Dragur and Intera to glance behind them in surprise. Right at her.
Shit on a cracker.
Zamorra hunched into her seat, trying to make herself invisible while angry eyes glared at her from the table. Intera smirked, the corners of her lips quirking up in amusement and she turned back to face the Regents.
"What were the steps required to activate the Enchantment?" Ignacio asked, pinning his sharp eyes on Intera.
"He needed to soak the ring in a small pool of his own blood for 24 hours to bind the magic to him. Once his blood was fully integrated into the ring, he could wear it and activate the Enchantment anytime he wanted. After a week, the magic would fade."
"I did that," Dragur gritted out between clenched teeth, "and nothing fucking happened."
"Then you didn't do it right!" Intera snarled back, white lightning crackling around her.
"Holster that magic, Miss Axis," Luther reprimanded sternly and Intera immediately dropped her magic from the air.
"My apologies, my Lord." She bowed.
Ignacio leaned forward, stretching a hand towards Dragur. "Give me the ring."
