"Wolf. Let's just go wolf. Nice and simple and it's not that far off from what I am anyways."
"Wolf it is. Any requests on your appearance?"
She thought about that for a moment. "Not really. Just don't make me butt ugly and I'll be happy."
Thaddeus laughed. "Easy done. Now, lie back." He pushed lightly on her shoulder, and she reclined all the way back into her seat.
Void switched off the TV and turned to face them, arms dangling off the back of the couch. He cocked his head, watching as the mage prepared to work his dark magic.
"Ready, mia signora?" Thaddeus asked, cracking his knuckles.
Dark magic smothered the air around her and the intensity of it made her choke. His palms glowed red as he slowly brought his hands together and moved them around each other in a circular motion. Lightning sparked between his hands, wild and full of unbelievable power. An orb of magic appeared in his palms. Small at first, about the size of a golf ball and then it quickly expanded as Thaddeus funnelled more and more of his dark magic into it.
"You said this wasn't gonna hurt, right? I kinda got a low threshold for pain," she licked her lips nervously, watching as that orb got bigger and bigger.
"You may feel a slight pinch."
"Slight pinch?!" Her voice hitched. "What do you mean 'slight pinch'?"
Thaddeus didn't answer. Instead, he lobbed that orb full of dark, terrifying magic right at her without any warning.
It hit her smack in the chest, sinking deep into her skin like quicksand until it disappeared entirely inside her. She sucked in a breath, currents of magic flowing through her organs, her heart, liver, kidney. Everything. She felt all of it as the magic passed through every single inch of her. She squeezed her eyes shut and gritted her teeth.
Her entire body lit up like wildfire. Power and heat coursed through her as the dark magic worked its way into her blood, her scent, altering it completely. A strange sensation quickly took over, something she had never felt before. It wasn't exactly pain, more discomfort. Anextremediscomfort. That intense feeling flared to life inside her and she felt like her skin was on fire. Like she was burning from the inside out. Again, there was no pain. Which confused the fuck out of her. Just that strange, strange discomfort.
Void's jaw dropped as Zamorra began to change right before his eyes. Dark flowing locks replaced her thick, silver hair. Her skin darkened a few shades so she now had a glistening summer tan. Green seeped into her blue eyes making them a sparkling, crystal turquoise. Her face thinned, her eyebrows arched up a little higher and her lips grew a tad bit fuller all in one second, altering her appearance just enough to mask her true identity.
Once the magic had done what the mage intended it died away, disappearing into the night and she finally felt like she could breathe again.
Zamorra opened her eyes, catching sight of her uncle staring with his mouth hanging wide open and eyes bulging from his head.
I don't feel any different,her werewolf said with confusion.Go to a mirror.
Zamorra got to her feet and walked to the mirror on the far wall. When she saw her reflection, she stilled. Of course she knew what Thaddeus was doing. She knew that she was going to look different. But it was one thing to know it and another to actually see it. Staring at the mirror and not seeing herself, but some black-haired, green-eyed beauty tripped her the fuck out.
"Holy shitfuck," she breathed in shock.
"I know," Void echoed. "I'll be honest, I thought I'd still be able to tell it’s you, but... " He moved to her side, sniffing the air. "I can't scent your were at all. All I'm getting is wolf. She's still there, isn't she?"
"Uh-huh."
Zamorra turned from side to side, admiring her new look.Whatcha think? She asked her werewolf.
I like it,she rumbled back.
Her eyes heated but instead of flashing silver like usual, they flashed gold.
"Shit, he even did your eyes. Thorough fucker," Void said, staring at her face like he was trying to see through the façade. He poked her cheek and tugged on her now black-raven hair.
"Cut it out," she hissed, slapping his hand away.
"Did you seriously doubt me?" Thaddeus asked without looking their way, moving that stupid ornament on the side table once again. He cleared his throat and turned. "It'll last for 24 hours and then the magic will fade."
"Sick," Void said excitedly, moving to the chair Zamorra had just vacated. He plopped down. "My turn."
"Your turn?" Thaddeus frowned.
"Ya. My turn. I was thinkin' a cross between a young Johnny Depp and a chiselled Ian Somerhalder, with like, crazy bright blue eyes. Don't make my hair too long though. Keep it short. I don't need that 'man bun' nonsense."
