"Seriously?" Zamorra whined.
Luther prowled up to the open front door, the entryway slowly beginning to glow a faint red as he got closer and closer, power radiating all around them as the Wards started to slowly reveal themselves to their eyes. He studied the barrier with furrowed brows.
"What happened?" She asked, watching him closely.
He raised a hand and touched the field of magic lightly, a spark igniting at his fingertips and zapping him. He quickly pulled his hand back and frowned. "The Wards prevent him from leaving in the state that he's in and keeps unwanted parties out."
Zamorra huffed, blowing a strand of hair from her face. "So, what now? Wait for him to wake up and just drag his ass out?"
Luther lowered his brows in thought and pulled out his phone. "Thaddeus," he said, speaking into the device. "I need you."
"Thaddeus?" Void repeated, confused. "Who the fuck is Thaddeus?"
Dark magic laced the air, then Thaddeus appeared in a sea of red mist and sparks, wearing a dark Kimono and matching fluffy slippers. He had a champagne glass in his hand and a drunk expression on his face. "You rang, almighty powerful one?"
Void fumbled back, startled. "Fucking hell."
Thaddeus turned his body with a sway of his hips, taking in his present company with cloudy eyes. His gaze swept over Void, Maddox and Vamp One and Two slowly, methodically. "I guess my invitation for this little raiding party got lost in my inbox?"
"Enough with the theatrics Thaddeus, take this Ward down, now," Luther demanded, voice hard.
He swayed back to face them, smiling brightly when he caught sight of Zamorra. "Ah,mia signora, such a pleasure to see you again," he said, bowing at the waist. "How have you been? Keeping our boy Luthy busy, I take it?"
Luther growled, impatient. "The Ward, Thaddeus."
"Alright alright, calm down. Still as choleric as ever I see," Thaddeus mumbled, downing the rest of his drink in one go. He tossed the champagne glass over his shoulder and it shattered all over the ground.
His hand glowed red as he waved it slowly through the air, testing the magic. "Interesting," he murmured, lowering his brows. "I would love to meet whoever weaved this spell. It's beautiful, intricate, complex."
"Can you take it down or not?"
Thaddeus smirked. "Of course I can, Luthy. Just admiring the craftsmanship." He swished his hand left to right, signalling for Zamorra to move to the side. "Step aside, my lady. Don't want you in the splash zone."
Red lightning shot from his fingertips, attacking the Wards with dark, cold magic. Power crawled all over her skin, ancient and seductive, making her body tingle and heartbeat spike. Thaddeus' hands slowly glided through the air, moving up and down, side to side, manipulating his magic to move into every nook and cranny of the spell before he thrust his hands forward, releasing a burst of raw, undiluted power.
There was a bright, white flash and she quickly shielded her eyes. The entire house shook from its foundations, rattling from beneath her feet momentarily before the Ward spell crumbled away.
"Zamorra, get down!" Void yelled.
She didn't think, she just reacted. Dropping on all fours she quickly scurried away, turning just in time to see Luther grip Arturo's body mid-air and hurl him through the wall beside him with a snarl.
Maddox and the vampire soldiers blurred to Arturo instantly, each taking a hold of his flailing body and dragging him to his feet.
"Get off me! Get outta my house!" Arturo barked, fighting the vampire's hold.
They gripped him tighter and Maddox kicked the back of his legs, bringing Arturo to his knees.
Zamorra slowly got to her feet as Void and Thaddeus walked in, dusting her hands down her pants. Locking eyes with Luther, she moved to his side. "Thanks," she said, gratefully.
He grunted and turned away, heading for Arturo.
Her werewolf growled at his dismissive nature.
Easy, Zamorra soothed. Now's not the time.
"Stand him up," Luther commanded.
Arturo struggled as they pulled him to his feet. His eyes flashed gold and she half expected him to shift, but he didn't.
