She's not a toy!Zamorra snapped.

If this pixie insisted on coming with them, she would have to set boundaries for her werewolf. She didn't need another King Tuket situation on her hands.

Hey. I resent that. That stupid ugly blue fish started it.

Yeah, you keep saying that, but I still find it hard to believe that he just jumped into your mouth.

Hedid. I swear.

"What's your name?" Zamorra asked, holding out her palm.

The pixie flapped her wings and flew into her hand.

"Navi," Luther translated for her.

"Navi," Zamorra repeated, bringing her up to her face. "We're gonna have to figure out a way to talk to one another if you're coming to stay." She motioned to Luther. "Can't always rely on this guy to translate for us."

Navi smiled and nodded.

"My Lord?" Allora called out, standing next to a table in the centre of the room.

Luther picked Navi up by the back of her dress and held her up at eye level. Navi's feet dangled in the air, making Zamorra snicker. "Leave us to eat our dinner in peace and I'll let you come with us."

Navi narrowed her eyes before giving a smug smile and then promptly turned invisible. A spark ignited at Luther's fingertips, making him lose his hold on her clothes and let her go. "Argh, you little-"

Navi reappeared on top of Zamorra's head, legs and arms crossed, a smirk on her lips. She spoke a string of words, and even Zamorra could hear the attitude lacing her tone.

Luther narrowed his eyes and stepped forward, reaching for Navi.

"Hold it," Zamorra said, stepping back and putting her hands up. "No hurting the pixie."

"She hurt me first."

"Oh, don't even," she replied, rolling her eyes. "We both know that little zap did nothing to you." Zamorra reached up and grabbed Navi, pulling her down to look her in the face. "We've gotta have a private conversation, so why don't you go say goodbye to your little pixie friends and we'll come get you when we're ready to leave?"

Navi pursed her lips and crossed her arms, tapping her foot in the air.

"I swear, we won't leave without you."

She huffed but obliged. A trail of pixie dust followed her as she rose into the air, her wings flapping fast. She stuck her tongue out at Luther before spinning around and flying off.

Zamorra couldn't believe how strange her life had gotten in only a matter of days. She never imagined ever meeting a pixie, let alone having one follow her home.

"Come on," Luther beckoned, placing his hands on her shoulders and steering her towards the table. "You've got some secrets to spill."

Allora stood off to the right, a tray of wine glasses in her hand filled with dark, red liquid. Pixies hovered in the air around her, drawn to her presence. Zamorra noticed how they flocked to the vampires like moths to a flame. She wondered if, like her, they were attracted to the power they exuded.

A beautifully decorated table sat in the middle of the room, surrounded by magic, tendrils of its power lacing the air and making her body tingle.

"What is this?" Zamorra asked, raising her hand and touching the field of magic with her fingertips. It was invisible to the naked eye, the tingling sensation in her extremities the only indication it was there.

"A soundproofing spell. Once we're inside, no one will be able to hear us," Luther replied, stepping through.

She eyed it suspiciously.

Just go,her werewolf urged.

Don't rush me!Zamorra snapped back.
