“I don’t share,” Liam said firmly. “You should know that.”

“Clearly, but you did perfectly fine for the case,” Jacob said. “Never mind breaking the rules.”

“Oh, you mean the case where you tried to sabotage every step I made?” Noah asked. “Tell me who started the dialogue on me being involved in my sister’s disappearance.”

“I refuse to share you. Especially with him,” Jacob said, nodding to Noah with his last word.

I sucked in a breath as things went south quickly. My heart felt like it was breaking. The men erupted into an argument. Everything I had said was forgotten. They worked together so well, I had thought. Sure, it was for a case, but I never thought that was going to end once the case was over.

I thought I had brought them all together. I believed I was the glue that made our little team work. As the men continued to fight with each other. I sat on the floor and curled into a little ball.

How did this go so wrong so quickly? How could I have been so wrong and so blind to not know this was going to fail so miserably?

“We thought you were going to be gone the second the case was over,” Liam added.

“Guess this is what you get for thinking, huh?” Noah snapped back.

I shook my head as tears blurred my vision and I tried to fight back the urge to cry. Maybe I had been wrong about this after all. Maybe I couldn’t have them all. They were going to force me to choose when that would be the worst thing ever.

I buried my face into my knees and let the tears fall.

“Way to go, assholes, now Savannah’s upset,” Noah said.

“You are at as much fault as we are,” Jacob retorted.

“Stop,” I said and sniffed. “Just… please, stop.”

“Sorry, Savannah,” Liam said. “We’re behaving like animals.”

I leveled my gaze at him. He smirked shamefully.

“Sorry,” Jacob said.

Noah smiled wide. “I wouldn’t mind sharing every once in a while if it means I get to keep you. It’s strange for a dragon, I know. But you’re worth it.”

I shook my head. “I don’t expect you all to be okay with this immediately. So, if you need time to think about it, I will understand. After all, you all were very patient with me and gave me the time and space I needed to figure things out.”

Jacob sighed. “I love having you as my partner. But protocol… pesky irritating rules that they are.”

I nodded. “Protocol wouldn’t have to be a thing you or Liam would have to face. I’ve already submitted my resignation and will be returning to my coven. I will work from there on helping to locate still missing witches.”

Liam leaned back. He seemed to be giving things a little more consideration. “We do work well together. And maybe I was being a little harsh with Noah.”

“A little?” he asked.

Liam glared at him.

“And the perks are bar none,” Jacob said, looking me up and down.

“These jerks have really grown on me,” Noah said. “We make a great team when we put our minds to it.”

“So, is that a yes?” I asked, trying to not sound too eager.

“Haven’t you figured it out yet?” Liam asked. “With some ground rules, of which can be worked out at a later time, I think we could all make this work.”

“I’m just happy you’re not leaving me,” Jacob said.

“Everybody deserves a second chance, right?” Noah asked.
