Noah’s face lit up.

Liam and Jacob immediately jump in with their refusals and arguments.

I stood with my arms crossed over my chest. “I have to give this a shot. My friend needs me, and the longer we take to find her, the more likely we won’t make it in time to save her life. And if my sleeping with Noah for a ritual is going to help make that happen, then so be it. But don’t get this twisted, I’m not asking for permission.”

“That is not advisable,” Liam growled out.

“Pass the Savannah, anyone?” Jacob muttered.

I shot him a glare.

“I’m doing this because the alternative isn’t something I’m willing to live with. If you don’t like it, you can leave. Otherwise, I have a ritual to prepare for, and I’m not wasting any more time trying to make you see reason.”

Noah smirked proudly while Jacob and Liam glared at me.

I shrugged. “I said what I said.”

NOAH

I had barely heard anything she said after the part where she told us she had to sleep with me to get enough energy to perform the ritual. Part of me wondered if she wasn’t just saving the best for last.

I realized this could have been my last chance to get things right and rekindle what she and I had, and I was too stupid to keep. Sure, I was fully aware she was only doing this to help find my sister, but for her, I would give everything I had and so much more.

All she had to do was ask.

I whipped out my phone as she laid into Liam and Jacob. I smirked to myself as the tone of her voice let me know she wasn’t okay with the two of them trying to dictate her life. Especially when it came to her body. They would learn soon enough not to try and control her. Or maybe I should sit back and watch them burn themselves with her. It would be like the trash took itself out.

Nah. I needed to focus on making the evening perfect. Doing things right was an absolute must. So, while they were busy, I texted my favorite restaurant.

“Dinner for two, secluded. Candlelight. Top shelf bottle of wine. Sweet, not dry.”

I even set the reservation for a convenient time before mentally planning the rest.

“Two hours.”

I figured that would b long enough. And now that the reservation was handled, I came back into the conversation. She was walking away. I thought I had missed something until she turned around.

“One of my sisters will be back to get you in a short while,” she said, eyes on me.

“What?” I asked. I really did miss something in my lack of paying attention to everything.

She shook her head. “Please pay attention. I don’t have time to go over this again. One of my sisters will be here when I’m ready to bring you to me.”

“It’s going to be here?” I asked, shocked. That wasn’t how I thought things were going to go at all.

“Yes, it’s going to be here,” she said leveling her brown eyes on mine. “This is where the circle is, where the coven is, and where I need to be to do the ritual. Any other questions?”

I thought about her news. I supposed I had jumped the gun a little when I made the reservations, but then again, I could still make that work. “I’ll be back at five to pick you up for dinner.”

“Not without an escort,” Liam said.

“Not without two escorts,” Jacob added.

I pinched the bridge of my nose. These two were really starting to chafe my ass.

“No reservations,” Savannah said. “Just stay here and wait for me to get ready.”
