“I’ll go handle this,” Liam said.

“No, don’t. I’ll get it. Trust me when I say whoever it is, is about to live to regret their decision to interrupt me.”

The door ended up winning out because whoever was on the other side was nothing if not persistent and my climax wasn’t going to be as great as it was building up to be the first time.

Liam’s eyes searched mine. I smiled at him and brushed my lips along his. He deepened the kiss. When we broke away, I patted his chest. “I appreciate the offer, but I think I have it handled.”

“I’m sure you do,” he said with a grin.

Liam regrettably pulled out of me and rolled to his back while I stood from the bed and headed to my chair in the corner of the room, pulling my red, silky robe from it and slipping it on. I tied the belt and turned to face him with a smile.

He stared at me with a predatory need. Chills prickled along my skin, and I started to second guess my decision. Maybe my visitor needed to take the hint.

Then the banging happened again, and I had a few curses on the tip of my tongue.

Then again, maybe whatever had them at my door at such a late hour was important. I rolled my eyes. Somebody had better be dying.

“I’ll be right back to finish what I started,” I said through a frustrated sigh.

“Take your time,” he said. His words came out deep and low, further teasing me back to him. “I’m not going anywhere.”

My eyes drifted to his erection tenting the sheet above his frame. His hand was underneath the thin fabric, stroking himself, keeping his erection alive for me. I bit my lip and then giggled under my breath before turning toward the person on the other side of my front door who was banging loudly against it. Once I reached the door, I pulled it open, ready to bite off the head of whoever it was. But when my eyes settled on Jacob and Noah, I gaped at them.

Of all the people I had thought would dare to visit my door at this time in the morning, seeing my partner and my best friend’s brother on the other side of the door wasn’t anywhere on the list of possibilities.

I clamped my mouth shut and stared at the two of them. “None of you appear to be bleeding or even on death’s door. So, you had better have a good excuse.”

Both of them stared at me with a mix of desire and shock. Neither of them was willing to talk. I sighed and crossed my arms over my chest. I was frustrated I had decided to answer the door rather than experience another mind-blowing orgasm with Liam. If the two of them weren’t going to say a word, I might just snap my fingers and blip them out of existence.

“So, help me if one of you doesn’t say a word, you’re going to have hell to pay,” I said.

Jacob’s eyes darkened as he clamped his mouth shut. Noah stared at the split in the opening of my robe. I scoffed. His eyes met mine and they were darkened as well.

“Seriously?” I snapped.

Shuffling happened in the bedroom. I really hoped Liam didn’t come out. I didn’t have the desire to explain myself to anyone, and I knew if he made an appearance, I was going to deal with the inundating questions surrounding protocol and what happened at Noah’s place.

What happened, I was willing to talk about.

What Liam was doing in my bed? Not so much.

Regardless, I was tempted to slam the door in both of their faces for wasting my time and gawking at me at four something in the morning.

JACOB

Noah could move like a bat out of hell when he was motivated to do so. Of course, dragons weren’t exactly known for their laziness to begin with. Especially dragon shifters. His determined movements had me struggling to keep up with him, and that was saying something. Once he got to the center of the parking lot, he stopped and propped his hands on his hips before turning to me and asking, “Which car is yours?”

When Noah first arrived for his protective duty, Liam had brought him. He didn’t know what vehicle I drove, and I was happy about the tiny fact I could give Noah a taste of his own medicine.

I smirked. “You mean you don’t know everything?”

“Funny,” he said seriously. “Are you going to drive or not?”

I slipped my hand into my pocket and pressed a button. My car’s alarm chirped. “I believe it is that one.”

I pointed in the direction of the vehicle’s lights that flashed.
