I see Killian at one point and wave at him. He waves back, trying to hide the hickey on his neck with his collar.

“Who would have thought the Princess of Hell is so close to her brother? Aren’t siblings supposed to hate each other like Miya and I?” Amos teases.

I snort. “But my brothers are so precious! We just grew up close,” I say with a shrug. “Plus, they are not as fucking annoying as Miya.”

“Someone’s jealous,” Gibby mutters.

“Of what?” I question, looking up and sipping my drink.

“He’s implying you are jealous she’s with Khazon,” Ledger deadpans.

I throw my head back. “Or? I’m pissed she called me trash the first time I met her. I don’t care who Khaz is dating. She’s probably just as annoying without him.”

Hazen nods. “She is.”

I shake my head, giggling. “I don’t get jealous. It’s not a trait I have.”

“So, if a girl came up to Ledger, kissed him, and implied they should fuck, you wouldn’t be pissed?” Hazen asks.

I lean forward, eyes moving up and down him. “I’d ask to watch.”

Hazen’s brow bounces.

Khazon walks in with Miya and two other Soul Reapers with him. His jaw clenches when he sees who we are all sitting with. I wave with a smile, earning an eye roll. He moves to us. “Please tell me my hellhound has no involvement over Jake getting the shit kicked out of him?”

Jake. That is who Ledger beat up yesterday?

Amos meets my eyes, a questioning look filling them. I haven’t told her everything yet.

“Who?” I tilt my head.

“I’m not stupid, Asura.”

I hold up my hands. “I never said you were, Khazzie. I just asked a question. We only went out for sushi yesterday.”

“I wasn’t invited,” Hazen says with a huff.

“You said you were busy,” Ledger grumbles.

“Never for sushi.” Hazen pouts, sitting back. I watch as his strong arms cross over his chest.

“Asura, if I found out that you involved my hound with this, I’ll—”

My eyes snap to him, feeling pressured. “You’ll do, what? What can you, the Son of Death, do to the Heir of Hell?”

He straightens, and I take in his looks for a moment. He is in a red uniform like mine. His hair is getting a bit shaggy and long, but very handsome with his dark features. His eyes are hard and on me. “Jake is my friend.”

“Is he okay?”

He nods.

“Next time tell him to keep his hands to himself, and I won’t have to fuck him up.”

His eyes scan my face as he lets out a breath. I can tell he’s trying to process everything. He seems to believe it because he walks away. When breakfast is done, Ledger and I break off from his friends as we walk with Amos to my class.

“Why would you cover for me?” Ledger asks, grabbing my shoulder to stop. I look up at him. He’s looking good in his black button up and black khaki pants. I just know his butt looks amazing in them.

“Where is your class at?” I question, distracting him.
