Thud!
Inarian throws me over his shoulder and onto the mat below.
A gasp escapes my throat as my eyes close. Everything aches. Between this and the weapons training, I’m sore. Inarian doesn’t show any mercy, but I’m learning a lot about fighting and his fighting style. If I keep training like this, it might help me, but I know right now, my back is going to have a huge bruise.
“Are you all right?” Inarian finally asks, kneeling next to me.
I open my eyes, taking in each vibration of his heavy voice. He rarely talks, didn’t yesterday. Hazen said that he is likely not going to talk at all to anyone, only a few words at a time. I take a shaky breath. “Oh…Peachy.”
He let out a sigh. “Did I hurt you again?”
I roll my eyes before rolling onto my hands and knees to get up. “Stop treating me like I’m weak. I’m anything but weak. Again.”
He cocks a brow.
“Again!” I say sternly.
With a sigh, he rushes at me, and I prepare for it. His fist swings and I dodge with my forearm. I wince. That’ll hurt later. Instead of punching, I jump up and kick him in the chest.
Inarian barely moves, reaching for my ankle.
Scrambling, I drop quickly, dodging his next punches. I swing my leg and it actually makes him fall hard against the mat.
Thud!
Quickly, I take advantage of this, climbing onto him, straddling his hips. My fist flies, but of course, he’s fast, grabbing my wrists. He lifts his hips, taking control and flipping us. I struggle against him as he pins my hands to the mat below me.
Our crotches line up, making me freeze. An icy chill runs through me, making me shudder below him. His dark eyes glance down at where our body is connected.
“What? Are you going to get turned on by every guy who pins you down? What if I was an enemy?”
I can’t help but chuckle. “I’d probably be turned on more. Danger is fun.”
He rolls his eyes, shifting to get up.
“How could you tell?” I roll onto all fours and bounce to my feet.
He cocks a brow, fixing his shirt.
“That… I’m turned on,” I whisper.
“As hellhounds, we have heightened senses. Like how your heart raced and your… smell changed.”
My face heats up. “Everyone can tell?” He nods. “Oh god!”
He shrugs. “It happens.” He fixes his shirt, and I can see the faint outline of his dick through the gray sweats. I turned him on… Does this happen with each girl that smells or something? Hazen said he doesn’t have many girls in and out of his life when I asked if Inarian was single. He doesn’t even have a reaper.
“Hey, you don’t have a Soul Reaper, right?”
He doesn’t answer me, instead he glares down at me with an icy gaze. I can tell he’s trying to intimidate me, but compared to my father, this was nothing
“You should be my hound.”
“No,” he deadpans, turning and moving to the water fountain.
I race after him. “What do you mean, no?”
“Are you not used to that word?” Inarian asks.
