Kill: I’m eighteen now, A. But if you must know, I’m hanging with my hounds and their friends. You want to go somewhere to eat in the Shadow World?
I jump from the bed. It’s almost hard to believe that Killian is eighteen years old now. I feel like he’s still the baby I used to push around. Derrick is twenty like I am, only two months younger than me. He was very close to getting the throne before me.
Me: If you insist.
About twenty minutes after our text exchange, I leave my empty dorm behind to meet my brother by the entrance gate. I see him talking to Ledger as we get closer.
I smile. “Hey, fighter,” I tease, punching Ledger’s hot arm.
He raises a brow, looking over at me. “This is who you invited, Killian?”
I cross my arms over my chest. “You can always stay behind.”
“I was the one who came up with this!” he says, smirking and pointing to himself.
“Aw! Do you actually have ideas?” I gasp dramatically. “And thoughts?”
Ledger rolls his eyes, smiling. “Whatever, princess. Come on before we leave you behind.”
