“Well, maybe you two can have some fun this weekend.” He smirked and headed back to the girls. I followed behind, shaking my head. I was all for some fun, but I hadn’t intended on getting laid this weekend. I was going to be the best man at my brother’s wedding and then get back to work on the farm.

Back at the table, Parker stood by his fiancée and wrapped an arm possessively around her waist. He leaned down and whispered something in her ear, causing her to blush and giggle. It was cute and even I had to admit, it made me a little jealous I hadn’t found what they had yet.

Maybe one day, but it was hard when you essentially worked twenty-four/seven and there weren’t many women to choose from.

“They're so happy, aren’t they?” Vivian leaned over and asked, causing me to catch a whiff of her lilac scent.

“They are.” I nodded in agreement. “I had to admit that I was skeptical when he told me they were getting married already, but they seem so in love. And a wedding on Valentine’s Day? How cliche.”

“Same.” She nodded and laughed. “But that’s the cynic in me I guess. I don’t believe in love at first sight. Sorry, I’m a little bitter right now - bad breakup recently.”

“Sorry to hear that.” I set my beer on the table. So she was single.

“Thanks, but don’t be. He was an asshole I should have dumped a long time ago.” She took a sip of her wine. “But enough about me. How about you?”

“Well, I don’t believe in love at first sight either. I have not had a bad breakup recently, and I am single as they come.” I grinned at her and she gave me a small smile.

Dani and Parker turned their attention back to us and the four of us discussed the wedding plans for a bit. Tomorrow night was the rehearsal dinner and the wedding was Saturday. Sunday we were meeting for brunch before I went back to the farm and they took off for their honeymoon to Cancun.

After a few rounds of drinks, Parker and Dani headed to the dance floor, leaving Vivian and me looking at each other awkwardly. Like I said to Parker, the two of us had nothing in common other than the two of them and had nothing to talk about.

I noticed her wine glass was almost empty. “How about another drink?”

She finished off what was left of her wine and nodded. “Sure. Let’s go to the bar.” She jumped off her bar stool and brushed her breasts against my arm. My cock stirred a little; I was definitely attracted to this girl.

I followed behind her as we weaved our way through the crowd to the bar. I couldn’t help but check out her ass in her tight jeans.

“Nice ass.”

I looked over and noticed a guy in a suit also checking her out. “What did you say?” My blood started to boil.

“Come on, country boy, I saw you looking at her too. She has a killer ass.” He nudged his friend next to him with this elbow. “Am I right?”

I clenched my fists at my sides. I started to lunge at him when I felt a hand on my arm. That was not how a man talked to a lady.

“Just leave him. I’m used to it. It’s no big deal. He probably has a tiny penis anyway.” She winked at me and I calmed down.

She pulled me away from the asshole as his friends started laughing at him. What the hell had come over me? I had never been a jealous person, but his comment pissed me off. Besides, she wasn’t really my date tonight anyway.

“Sorry,” I muttered when we got to the bar. “I hate dickheads like that.”

“No worries. Believe it or not, I can take care of myself.” She smiled and moved closer, shoving me a little bit. “Now I think it’s time for some shots.” She waved the bartender over and ordered us a couple of shots of Jack Daniel’s.

I raised my eyebrows and shook my head. “If I do shots, this night is going to get crazy real fast, especially Jack.”

She lifted her shot glass and set the other in front of me. “Good. I’ve been working too hard lately and not having any fun. From what I’ve heard, you’re pretty similar. My best friend and your little brother are getting married on Valentine’s Day. Let your hair down a little and relax.”

She was right. I never got a break from work. I vowed then and there to go with the flow this weekend.

I picked up the glass. “Okay, but I warned you.”

“To Dani and Parker.” We clinked our shot glasses together before downing the Jack. The liquor burned as it went down my throat and we slammed our glasses onto the bar. She waved the bartender over to order another.

“Another one already?” I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand. This girl could drink.

“I'm from the Midwest; I can drink. I would think you would be used to that being from Wisconsin. Can’t you keep up?” she teased and licked her lips. The bartender poured us two more shots.

“That sounds like a challenge, Vivian. I never turn down a challenge.” I snatched up the shot glass. “What do we drink to now?”
