We were a pack of six, complete once more, just as we had been since we were in diapers. My wolf completed us again.

I was still upset about Ashley, still pissed, but by the time we made it back to the rocks where I’d left my truck, I felt better in other ways.

I knew I was going to have to let Ashley go, but also knew that these guys would see me through the tough days ahead.

One thing was certain, she had single handedly destroyed my belief in true love. She had shattered my hopes and dreams for the future. I wasn’t sure I could ever forgive her for it, but with my guys by my side, I knew I was going to be okay… probably not for a while, but someday.

The others all shifted and started to dress, but I just stood there watching them.

I whimpered when Thomas shifted. I had no idea how the hell to get back to my skin. I didn’t even have a clue how I’d managed to get into this form. For a second, I started to panic. Was I going to be stuck as a wolf forever?

“Calm down,” Thomas ordered. “The shift won’t happen while you’re freaking out. You have to relax and just accept it.”

Accept it? Accept what? What the hell was he talking about?

James laughed as he popped a beer and sat down to wait.

They were all staring at me only adding to the pressure.

“Relax, Wyatt. It’s the most natural thing in the world,” Austin said.

“Says the guy who got stuck in his wolf for three days on his first shift,” Clay teased.

“All on purpose. I was just testing things out is all,” Austin argued defiantly.

We all knew that was bullshit, but it had left a fear within me that something like that could happen.

“Calm down,” Thomas demanded, causing me to jump backwards and knock over the case of beer. A can tumbled out and hit the rock just right causing the contents of this to also spew everywhere.

The guys screeched and jumped out of the way of the spray.

“Damn it, Wyatt,” James cursed.

I started to laugh at the sight.

One second, I was practically wheezing in my wolf form probably looking rabid, and the next I was naked and holding my stomach laughing at him.

“Happy to entertain you,” James muttered sarcastically.

“Hey, you’re back. You did it,” Emmett said.

“No thanks to you,” I grumbled.

“I mean technically if it wasn’t for Emmett sending you into a rage, you might never have shifted,” Clay explained.

“Hey, I thought it was my quick thinking to call his wolf out,” Thomas argued.

“But his wolf was only close enough to be called because of that asshole,” Clay continued to press his case.

“Whatever,” Thomas conceded.

“Happy to help,” Emmett said with a cheesy grin.

“Asshole.”

“Call me what you want, but we’re all still proud of you,” he said with that stupid smile still on his face.

“Sit down and have a beer. You’ve earned it,” James said.
