Olivia tried to process what she was hearing. “If Rick wasn’t at fault, then why did he take the blame?”
“Dunno,” Logan said. “He’s been looking out for Marisol since the survey unit.”
“He talks her off the ledge when she stresses out,” Alisha added.
“Yeah, she’s always worried about failing,” Logan said.
Alisha uncapped her water bottle and took a long drink. “Maybe Rick figured she had more to lose than he did?”
But Rick had a lot to lose. What about Dr. Roth’s recommendation? And that job in California? How could he throw that away?
Olivia’s emotions churned in a stew. She needed answers.
