When he cradled her face in his hands, her body responded like she’d been charged by an electric current. Ensnared in his gaze, she couldn’t find the will to pull away. He threaded his fingers through her wet hair and claimed her lips. She nipped at his bottom lip, then slid her tongue against his, tasting salt water. Lost in the heady rush of desire, she kissed him back passionately, dizzy from the flood of sensations. But when she reached out to stroke his bare chest, he pulled away with a sigh.
A bemused smile played on his lips. “You’re impossible, you know that?”
She bit back a giggle. “Impossible to resist, you mean?”
“Exactly. Thanks to you, I’m trapped on this rock until my hard-on dies down.” His swim trunks had tented up in a display unfit for a public beach.
“I couldn’t help myself. You can probably get it under control if you get back in the water. Or…”
“Or what?”
“Or you could just keep kissing me.” She shaded her eyes toward the beach. “They can’t see us, can they?”
“Not if we’re lying down.” He lay back on the rock and pulled her beside him.
The feel of his sun-warmed body heated her like an inferno. She met his eyes with a sassy grin. “I like the way you think.”
And then he was kissing her again, and she gave way to her desire, even if only for a few more minutes. At some point, they needed to talk. Figure out what they hell they were doing, risking temptation like this.
But not today.
