“You’re a terrible man.”
“So you’ve said.” I dragged my tongue up one finger and down the other, taking my time to savor the flavor. Her breath skipped, her lovely mouth pursing.
“This time I mean it.”
“I have no doubt you’ve meant it every other time.” I continued cleaning her fingers, my cock pushing hard against my jeans. With the sheets pooled around her feet, her skin glistening in the moonlight, I was far too hungry to deny my need. “Take a sip of your wine, my sweet.”
“Why?”
“Because you’re going to need something to quench your thirst.”
“I’m sure you’ll think of something else,” she whispered but obeyed my orders, closing her eyes as she tipped back the glass.
My balls were rock hard.
When she was finished, I took her glass away, the slight touch of our fingers forcing her to shiver. After placing both on the table, I pulled her into my arms, yanking the sheet between my fingers. Then I carried her to bed.
Our bed.
The rest of the world could wait.
CHAPTER15
Sevastian
Sri Lanka. It had been years since I’d visited the location.
I was struck by the crowded streets and bustling businesses, happy faces greeting me in every store. They had no idea who I was or what I was capable of.
I handed off the purchases I’d made to one of the two soldiers I’d brought with me, with a single exception. The present was too special to allow anyone else to handle. As a car approached, I took a deep breath. Kostya had insisted that he handle his business alone and I’d honored that request. The man had earned the family’s trust through the years, never failing us once.
He was like a ghost, a man with no past, his identity often changing depending on the mission he’d been sent to achieve. Our family had enemies in several countries, some of which my father had earmarked to be terminated over the years. Kostya had no permanent address that anyone knew of, or if he did, only my father was aware, keeping his secret. Considered a dangerous man, he was one of the most wanted men in the world, several international law agencies trying to capture him.
To date, only the family knew what he looked like. That made him as invaluable as the fact he had no family whatsoever, not a single weakness. No gambling. No extortion. He’d grown up on the streets of Ukraine, a mean and angry kid who used his size as force, developing his finesse in his assassination abilities over the years. He was a well-oiled machine, a man with no conscience whatsoever, zero guilt.
His only hardcore rule was he’d never terminate a woman or children. To date, he’d never been asked to break it. This visit was a gift, a rarity that I wouldn’t take advantage of, but he was the right man for the job I needed handling. All eyes would be on me if and when I returned to New York. He could come in under the radar without a single question being asked.
As he headed in my direction, his jaw clenched, I could tell he was studying me behind his dark sunglasses. We weren’t friends, had never shared a drink or a meal together, but I trusted him implicitly.
He stood in front of me, turning his attention to my plane then down to what I was holding in my hand.
“You surprise me, Sevastian, and I’m a man who is rarely taken aback.”
I chuckled, scanning the area as I’d done several times before removing my shades. He did his as well. It was always best to talk face to face without hindrance of any kind. It was difficult to lie without the irises contracting. “We all have secrets, Kostya, dark places where we seek solace from the brutality of our world.”
“I can see the woman has drawn out another side of you.”
He was right, more so than I would admit to anyone. “She is a requirement.”
“A requirement. An interesting statement.”
“The mark?”
“Handled,” he said, once again glancing toward the plane. He made enough money to own jets, as I’m sure he did as well as other luxuries, but we weren’t here to compare monetary treats.
“Was any information provided?” The marks almost never squealed, but it was worth asking.
Kostya laughed. “The fucker was like a stuck pig. What I can tell you is that the summation you were alluding to is correct. The guns were stolen for a very prominent man. Granted, the asshole didn’t tell me who that was, but he did say someone in a higher power in the US. While he refused to say, it’s my opinion another strike is in the works. I’d make certain you have a full security team on standby when the delivery is issued day after tomorrow.”
