“Then why are you here, Suki?” I don't blink as my face straightens and I watch her eyes go completely still.
Maybe it's time to change the rules of the game.
“I was...” she sighs again. “Since Adrien... since he came here...” she's mumbling, and I'm losing my patience. It's not like I don't know what she wants to say, but I want her to fucking admit it.
“Suki...” my tone holds warning.
“I am scared, okay?! I am scared... I don't know if he is just going to show up out of nowhere.”
I shake my head. Was that so hard?
“Even if he is, I'm not going anywhere. Not without taking you with me. And if I'm here, he's not getting you. He's not touching a hair on your body, Suki, never again.” As I say those words to her, my arms around her squeeze her body tighter to mine involuntarily.
She nods, her head shaking.
“So, that's it then... you were just afraid to be in that bedroom alone.” I speak as I start releasing my grip on her.
“Yes, that is it.” She nods.
Okay, then. Time to change the rules of the game.
I gently slide her body off me, laying her on the bed.
“I'm going to take a shower and then we'll have breakfast.” I don't stop or turn my head as I hear her meekOkaybehind me. I just leave the room.
