“And if you don’t, the lease is only for a year. I don’t need to sell the property immediately. I could wait for a year. More if I had to.”

Muzi stopped, turned to face her and put his hands on her shoulders. “Thank you,” he said, his voice tender. “You don’t know how much this means to me.”

This wasn’t just business, Ro thought. His need to find the C’Artegan cultivar went deeper than business, than bringing a new wine to the market, than receiving awards and accolades. It was soul-deep important to Muzi and she wished he’d tell her why. She wanted, needed, to know him on a deeper level.

Good job on keeping your attraction surface-based, O’Keefe!

Muzi looked like he wanted to touch her, his mouth darting to her mouth and back to her eyes. He reached for the band of her shorts, his fingers sliding between the fabric and her skin, anchoring her in place. Ro had no intention of going anywhere.

The only place she wanted to be was in his arms.

“Is my magnanimous gesture enough to make you kiss me?” Ro asked, surprising herself with her boldness.

“You standing there, simply breathing is enough to make me want to kiss you, Roisin,” Muzi told her, lowering his head.

Within half a second, maybe less, his mouth was on hers and she wondered how she had lived on planet Earth for so long without having been kissed by him.

He tasted of coffee and sun, of sex and sin. He tasted glorious...

Ro draped one arm around his strong neck and placed the other above his heart. He was hotter than she expected but solid, and she had the sensation that he’d be an impenetrable barrier between her and the world. She was strong and independent, but sometimes even strong and independent women wanted to feel protected.

Muzi cradled her face in his broad hands and his clever tongue slipped between her teeth. Her knees softened as her heart rate kicked up and, perfectly tuned to her responses, he placed a hand on her lower back and pulled her closer, into his long, thick and very hard erection.

The man was big...everywhere.

Muzi cupped one butt cheek and lifted her onto her toes, his mouth plundering hers. This wasn’t a gentle kiss, a get-to-know-you kiss; it was wild, intense and a little feral. And every bit of her loved it. She couldn’t get enough, she wanted more...

She wanted everything. Right here. And right now.

Ro returned his passionate kiss, moving her hands up and under his shirt as she tangled her tongue around his. She released a small moan when his hand found her breast, his thumb swiping over her nipple. She needed to get naked, to have him inside her.

She wanted to pull back, just long enough to tell him to make her his...

She had barely finished that thought when Muzi clasped her hands and pulled them off his body. He held them to her sides and rested his forehead on hers, breathing heavily.

“You are addictive, Roisin O’Keefe,” Muzi muttered, before linking her fingers in his. After swiping his mouth across hers in a brief, hard kiss, he took her hand and they slowly walked back to the house, with Ro wishing he wasn’t returning to Cape Town.

Despite having known him for such a short time, she was going to miss him.

They stepped onto the circular driveway in front of the house and Muzi nodded to his car. “Let me take you home, then I need to be on the road.”

“Busy week ahead?” Ro asked as she settled into the passenger seat of his SUV.

Do not ask him to stay, Ro. Do. Not.

“Very,” Muzi replied as he pulled away. “I’ll get a lease drawn up for the land and I’ll send it to Siya for him to make sure your interests are protected.”

Ro wrinkled her nose at the mention of her lawyer. “I’m sure it will be fine.”

Muzi looked horrified. “Jesus, Ro, you never sign anything until you’ve had a lawyer look over it.”

Ro rolled her eyes. “It’s a lease fromyou. If you stiff me, my brothers will bury you.”

“They would, and rightly so.” He frowned at her before returning his eyes to the road. “But don’t sign a damn thing, not from me or anyone else without Siya’s okay. Deal?”

“If I agree, will you stop nagging me?”

Muzi placed his hand on her thigh and squeezed, his fingers sending ribbons of heat through her body. She looked at his hand and wished...
