I was so glad to see my daughter in much better spirits. I hated when either of my children got sick, but with her diabetes, I usually got even more concerned over her. Sharon handed me the discharge papers, and I nodded at her instructions which matched the ones the doctor had given me. Then, I swept my daughter up into my arms, and walked to the door.

“Are you coming?” I asked Hayley when she didn’t even get up from her chair.

Hayley looked up and realized we were done. She stood up and grabbed her purse. “I’ve got places to be. Call Nancy on your way to the house. She can come and sit with Kaylee.”

“Let’s go back to my place where you can tell me all about the bear.”

“Share Bear,” she corrected, and I grinned.

“Share Bear, it is.” I then waited for her to wrap her arms around my neck before I headed to my car.
