“Druid, I didn’t realize you were back.”

His low chuckle borders on psychotic. “Arrived about an hour ago, my friend. Got called back in on a special assignment.”

Friend, my ass. But interesting all the same. The hairs on the back of my neck rise.

Feeling as though I’m swallowing broken glass, I work to keep this casual while I work on an exit strategy. “How long have you known?”

Though I didn’t ask him, the Druid eases off the corner of the desk and answers for his boss.

“Long enough to get the full picture of how all our recent shipments have ended up in the custody of law enforcement instead of our partners in Europe.”

“Not long then. I see.”

The Druid is in front of me now, his phone back in hand. He hit play on the part where Asena is taking me deep throat and he leans in. “Thanks for breaking her in for me. Now I won’t have to bid my time to fuck her and take her myself.”

Fury clenches my fist and it’s a sweet satisfaction when I bury my knuckles in the asshole’s face.

Blood oozes down from his nose and it’s the first taste of satisfaction I’ve had in a long while. He quickly backs off. “Touch her and I’ll be the one praying over your dead body.”

I sense more than see my shadows move in. Their mistake. My hand flies to my guns only to remember the girls are not in their holsters.

Strong hands grip my arms and I sling one off while feeding my fist to the other. Both fall to the floor. My foot buries into the gut of one before the door at my back flies open and more guards tackle me to the floor. The Druid takes a couple of steps back as the four enforcers struggle to hold me down.

From across the room, I see Titan do nothing but steeple his fingers in front of him watching the show. Like he’s considering his options. Probably where best to bury my body.

“Stop fighting, Theon. You’re only making it worse for yourself.”

“Shut the fuck up, you traitor.” The arm locked around my throat tightens. “How long have you been on the payroll?”

Rosario’s mouth opens, but I cut in before he can drop any lies. “Forget it, save your—”

“Bring her in. I’m growing tired of the show.”

Titan holds a hand up and signals toward the patio doors.

I forget about my handler at the sight of the patio opening and Asena being dragged in wearing little more than the flimsy nightwear I left her in back at my bungalow.

“Leave her out of this,” I seethe, but her father isn’t listening. Rage has his attention in its tight grip. For the first time in my life, I let fear in. All I can think about is her and removing her from the room. She doesn’t need to see this. Up until now, her father has had nothing but love for his daughter, which seems to have evaporated.

The man with his fingers digging into the flesh of her arm will die tonight. When he shoves her violently, sending her to the floor, his fate is sealed right along with mine.

“Thank you for joining us, dear.”

Panic creases the corner of her eyes when she seeks me out. “Father? Hark? What’s going on?”

“A little house cleaning.”

Hope dies behind those pretty lashes and darkness inside me surrounds me, wells and flows until all I see is murderous rage.

“Father, please. I can—”

“Shut up, you filthy whore. If your mother were alive…you will be dealt with.” Another wave of his hand and Asena is jerked off the floor and sent flying into a chair.

Anger festers inside me and the thirst for murder leaves my throat parched. Years of anger have built up inside me. I don’t remember moving, but I know it feeds my movements. The feel of bone crunching under the wrath of my fists is glorious. I bury them into one guy’s face, and then another working my way across the room to Asena.

Her father shoves her into the arms of someone and I’m right there, taking her back.

Before I can cross the final few feet between us, I’m under several hundred pounds of fresh meat.
