“Hey. Let’s do something tomorrow.” I bounced on the couch.
“Like what?” Russ’s head turned toward me. “We still have a few rooms here to christen. I was thinking we could work on that.” He chuckled.
“I was thinking we could leave the house.” I rolled my eyes.
“We’ve been talking and doing things together since we were six. We’ve only been doing this today. I kinda like how today went, but if you feel like this relationship isn’t balanced, I guess we could go shopping or something.” He shrugged.
“Yeah, balanced. I think we need to get out of here tomorrow, and then when we come home, we can do more of this.” I wagged my finger between us. “It’ll give you something to look forward to.”
“Is that a bribe?” His brow crinkled. “You know I’m not a little kid.”
“Oh trust me, there is nothing little about you.” I snickered.
“So, a fun day around town tomorrow. I think you should plan this. See if you can find something dog friendly so we can bring him.” His head tipped toward Taco, who was now sound asleep.
“Deal.” I nodded before grabbing the remote to attempt to find something to watch. If I didn’t distract myself, I might find the need for another shower, and I honestly don’t think my lady bits can handle any more for today.
After a few attempts at compromising on a movie, I stopped on a reality show. “Not this crap.” Russ groaned. “What is it with women wanting to watch this stuff? Anyone who falls in love that fast on TV knows it won’t last.”
“If you like me as much as you say you do, you’ll be quiet and watch this with me.” I pointed the remote at him.
“I surrender.” He held his hands up.
“That’s what I thought.” I grinned as I leaned back and turned my attention back to the TV. I needed to think of something fun to do for tomorrow that Taco could do too. I needed to get Russ out of his comfort zone. We were always doing the same things growing up, and I wanted to shake things up. The last thing I pictured when I fell asleep was Russ and Taco in a go-cart. We used to love those things growing up, and the idea of a dog strapped in the front seat beside him was comical.
