He grins. “It’s the truth.” Then he sits on my bed to put his shoes on.
I sit next to him, grinning to myself as I do the same, before slipping my shirt on.
“I need to get cleaned up before your dad thinks I killed you and ate the evidence.”
I throw my head back, laughing, standing from my bed as I button up my shirt. “Come on then, Mr Cole. Let’s get you cleaned up.”
He stands from the bed smirking at me, and I unlock my door, swinging it open, only to come face to face with Charlotte.
“Fucking hell. That was one session you guys had.”
“Jesus Char. Creeper much?”
She grins, her eyes darting over my shoulder to where Garrett must be.
“Oh wow. You’re a big guy. No wonder my little sister was screaming.”
“Fuck Char. Leave him alone.” I push her shoulder, nudging her out of the way.
She backs away, grinning, holding her hands up as we pass by, and I open the bathroom door for Garrett. “You clean up first.”
As I hold the door open for him, he glances briefly at my sister before moving into the doorway. He stops, turning back to me, and drags me against his chest to press his lips to mine. It’s a short kiss, yet still makes my heart do a stupid flip, and when he pulls back, he grins and shoots me a wink.
I lean against the door when he closes it and glare at Charlotte, who is still hovering.
“You got a little blood…” Char points to my face, and I roll my eyes.
“I know.”
“Should I ask?” She grins.
“Nope. Nunnofya.”
She rolls her eyes this time. “You like him, huh?”
“Yes,” I admit without hesitation. Well, that’s new. I don’t normally tell Charlotte that sort of stuff.
“So, is he one of your boyfriends?”
I stiffen. “How do you know about that?”
She grins like she knows all my secrets. “The olds were talking about it the other night when they thought they were alone.”
“You are fucking creepy, always eavesdropping on conversations.” I frown, and she shrugs. “Wait… How much do they know?”
She shrugs again. “Something about the day Marcus smashed up the office and some teachers dobbing on your lack of discretion with a group of boys in the schoolyard. And in class.”
“Damn. I didn’t know they knew that much.”
“So, how many guys are we talking about exactly?” She wags her brows, and I frown.
“Again… Nunnofya.”
She smirks. “I like this side of you, but…” She cringes. “I don’t want toeverhear you fucking, everagain!”
I grin, loving how much that would have annoyed her to hear it. “Next time, how about you go for a walk and not be a creep sitting outside the door to listen?”
“I had to make sure you were done before I interrupted. I don’t want you to kill me in my sleep.”
