Everett was quiet for a moment, and I could tell someone was talking on the other end, but I couldn’t make out their words. Everett’s eyes glistened with unshed tears, and I tightened my hold on his hand. I went on my tiptoes to hear, and Everett leaned down to accommodate me.

“First, what are you using to call me?” came a voice like Everett’s.

“A pay phone outside a gas station,” Everett answered. “We ditched our phones and we’re driving a stolen car.”

“Good thinking. Listen, I’ve been following your story on the radio. I know it’s not true. I know you, little brother. You were right to call me.” Easton’s voice was strong and full of emotion. Everett’s shoulders relaxed, and the tension in my stomach lessened. Nate couldn’t hear the conversation, so I turned to him and gave him a thumbs up. He let out a breath and put an arm around me and Everett.

Everett sniffed and took his hand back to wipe his eyes. “I don’t know what to do.”

“So far, you’re doing fine. There are no leads. Are all three of you together?” Easton asked.

“Yeah, they’re both here,” Everett said, and glanced over at me and Nate.

“Okay, don’t be seen all together. Couples and singles will get overlooked; threes get attention. Especially since everyone’s looking out,” Easton said. “And you’re going to come to me. I’m in the Smoky Mountains. This is a secure line, and hiding is kind of my specialty. Ask Mom and Dad. You’re going to meet me here in Tennessee, but I’m going to need you to do this in segments. You’re not coming straight here, and I can’t give you where to meet me yet.”

“Okay,” Everett said with a shaky exhale.

“Hey, stay strong and stay smart and you’ll be here with me in less than twenty-four hours,” Easton said, and Everett’s shoulders visibly relaxed even more. I squeezed him around his middle and felt his still rapid breathing expanding against my arms.

Easton gave us instructions to head towards Indianapolis and to stop for gas outside the city, and then to call him once we got there. He said it would take about four hours if we stayed off toll roads and major highways. He gave Everett directions that he wrote with a pen that had been shoved into the pay phone dock on the soft side of Nate’s arm.

We got back into the car and pulled around to the side parking lot where the lights didn’t quite reach. One empty car sat against the side of the building, and we assumed it belonged to the gas station attendant. No other cars were on the road and all the surrounding businesses were closed for the night. We drank our coffees and ate some of the granola bars while Nate repaired his glasses in the dim interior car lights with the little kit I had picked up.

“We could be safe in less than twenty-four hours,” Everett said quietly, leaning back against the seat. All three of us were in the back seat, needing to be close to each other.

“Safe… ish,” Nate said hesitantly.

“Nobody has figured out where Easton lives for years,” Everett clarified. “He’s very good at hiding.”

“Hiding. Is that what we’ll be doing forever?” Nate asked contemptuously.

“Better than dead, don’t you think?” Everett shot back.

“Please,” I said tiredly from between them. “Don’t fight.” They both reached out for a hand, and I squeezed them both. My handcuffs jingled. “Let’s get to Easton first and then figure out what to do next.”

We were quiet again for a moment, all three of us staring out the windows and thinking. Everett sniffed, and I looked at him to see his eyes fill with tears again. I reached out and pulled him down to rest his head on my shoulder in a hug. He sniffed and sighed into my neck and tangled hair but cried no more. He caught his breath and nuzzled against my neck. I pulled back to kiss Everett softly. His lips moved against mine and my heart soared. We were going to be safe together. We were going to get out of this mess. We had to. I could not lose these men. And right now, I needed to touch them. I needed to feel them in case this was the last time. I needed something positive.

Nate tugged at my hair until I pulled away from Ev and turned toward him. He smirked down at me before kissing me. His kiss became more heated as he gripped my hair at the base of my neck and held me to him. My breath hitched and I grabbed at the front of his shirt. Nate pulled back and smiled at me mischievously before lifting my shirt over my head. As soon as my shirt was off, I was being tugged back to Everett. His mouth was hot on my lips and he licked into my mouth. I turned fully to him, and he pulled me up onto his lap.

“Hey,” Nate complained.

“You’ve had more time with her like this,” Everett said, not even shooting Nate a glance as he looked up at me and stroked my hair away from my face.

Nate made a noise of disagreement as I leaned down and kissed Everett again. Everett stroked his hands over my torso, stopping to cup my breasts in my cotton bra. He groaned against my lips as he gently squeezed me. I ground down against him with a roll of my hips and his breath caught in his throat. I felt him harden beneath me and I suddenly felt very hot. Everett pulled away from the kiss, his hands coming to rest on the waistband and buttons of my jeans. His knuckles brushed warmly against the skin below my navel. He lifted one eyebrow in question, his expression smoldering and wanting. I nodded once before he flicked open my jeans and Nate reached over and yanked my jeans down over my ass, exposing my black panties that he also roughly pushed down. Everett lifted me by my hips and Nate pulled my panties and dirty jeans off my legs. I blushed at the awkward position in the car as Nate yanked my clothes off, but neither of them seemed to care. They placed me back down on Everett’s lap, and I kissed him again.

Everett slid his hands over my ass and thighs with a groan. Nate chuckled next to me and kissed my shoulder. “Her ass is perfect, isn’t it?”

Everett grunted his agreement, not moving his lips from my skin. Arousal covered my inner thighs just thinking about being with both of them. Everett’s fingertips inched closer to where I needed him most, and my breathing quickened in anticipation.

“You should see what it looks like fucking her from behind,” Nate said in his deep, sexy voice.

“I intend to find out. Not in the backseat of a stolen car,” Everett said gruffly. “I want to lay you down in a bed and devour you.” His fingers brushed over my wetness, and I let out a sound that was like a squeal but ended in a breathy moan. “But that’s not to say I won’t make you come right here.”

“Hell yeah,” Nate said and returned to kissing his way up my shoulder to my neck.

Everett’s long fingers slid through my slick folds and he moaned.

“She gets so fucking wet,” Nate said breathlessly.
