Dimitri buttoned his pants, "what about your heart? Are you willing to follow that?" I bit my lip. Could I say I was in love with both of these men that I would be spending the rest of my life with? That I was supposed to spend my life with? I couldn't say the attraction wasn’t there, the 'bond' was there, but other than that, I wasn't sure. It seemed so fast. They both seemed to be head over heels for me, but my heart wasn't going to allow it yet. I'm waiting for them to say something to bring me down. My soul finds my brain stupid for not opening more; they had been nothing but kind and spoiling.

"Just give me time," I whispered. "I've only known you both for a few days; how can you fall in love so fast?" Dax frowned, but Dimitri walked towards me in his bare feet, lifting my hands to his lips. "We've loved you since before we knew you. We prayed to the goddess every night for you. Our mother told us stories about how our mate would be the most beautiful, spunky, and fearless Luna the Crimson Shadow’s pack ever saw. But most of all, she would have control over our hearts." My eyes might have become a bit bug-eyed when I looked up into his electric blue ones. "Mother hasn't steered us wrong yet about any of it, so I know it won't take long for you to be captivated by us."

My heart sped up; before I was about to come out with some pansy reply, a woman screamed. Streams of profanities spilled from her mouth, and my name came up. "Zoey," I whispered. "That's Zoey!" Instead of transforming into their Wolves, Dimitri picked me up, threw me over his shoulder like a caveman, and took off. I would have flipped out, but Zoey was still yelling, and gunshots were going off.

Not to mention, I had a good view of Dimitri's tight jeans. How does one work a butt muscle? I squeezed it once to see how tight it was; his skip in his step made me realize it was not a good idea when my stomach collided with his shoulder. "Not right now, Seraphina." I giggled but cried when I heard another gunshot. "We are coming, Zoey!"

Dax was up ahead, jumping over a log until we hit the small clearing, the edge of the border that we had run my old SUV through. Gently, Dimitri put me down, keeping me behind him. My hands touched the back of his arms while I peeked over.

"You cannot be here, Zoey," Lonato growled. "We are under lockdown. There are no Wolves in or out; that goes with distance human family members." That was the most I had ever heard Lonato talk. His hair was standing on end, trying to restrain himself. Was he going to hurt her?

"I don't' care; where is Seraphina?" Tiny tears pricked her eyes. "She never came to tell me goodbye like she promised, and she isn't at home. There is something wrong. Did Jonas get her? Aren't you supposed to watch those dumb Bears!?" Did Seraphina know my pets were Werewolves!?

"Zoey!" I screamed, coming out from behind Dax. Dax grabbed me and pulled me back. "She's my friend; let go." Dax still pulled me back while Lonato stood in front of Zoey trying to block her from view. The heck is going on!?

Trey jumped out of the truck, hands in his pockets, shrugging his shoulders like he didn't witness the heated conversation. "How does Zoey know about you guys? Trey?" Trey spits out a wad of tobacco; I cringed.

"My aunt is mated to one of the Wolves in the pack," he scratched his head. I swear I didn't know your wolves were actually Werewolves, though, I swear." His hands went up in surrender. "Humans can't really sense those 'things'.”

"Neither did I," Zoey rubbed back the tears. "My cousin lives here with her mate too," she sniffed. "Your wolves were in the pound, so I thought I thought they weren’t really Werewolves."

"Again with the pound," Dimitri slapped his forehead. "Never living it down," he shook his head. I wanted to laugh, cry and hug Zoey, but the boys wouldn't let me near her.

"Why can't I see her?" Head darting from my mates to Lonato, his jaw ticked and set her aside while Dax did the same to me. "I'm sorry, those Bears came after me, and I just found out that my wolves were actually Werewolves, and they are my mates,” I held back a smile.

"Mates!? And twins! Damn, girl!" Zoey slapped my shoulder while laughing. "I'd give anything to have a mate; you are one lucky woman!" Lonato winced at the words and walked closer to Trey with an evil growl. "You both need to leave," he growled again. "If the Bears find out you know about us, it will put you in danger."

Dax jerked his head to the right, hearing a scuffle in the woods while watching a brown furry butt scurry away. "Too late," Dax sighed in defeat. "They have to stay; some Bear saw them." Trey groaned, leaning on the truck. "Great."

We all piled in Trey's truck. I sat in the back with the boys while Lonato sprinted back in his Wolf. The thick, dark, red fur sprouted on his body weighed heavily on him. The steps were weighty, not trying to conceal his movements while we raced to the packhouse.

"Zoey is his mate," Dimitri held onto my hip. Dax was looking over the side of the truck, watching the tires jump over the rocks.

"I'm not sure why he is fighting it,” he shook his head.

"How do you know?" I mused.

"He was in a protective stance; we were the threat. Why would Lonato do that to Zoey, an outsider?"

"They might be friends?" Dimitri shook his head. “He was putting off his scent. Unknowingly, but he was. We release our scent when you are around, that way people know you are ours.”

Good to know.

"No, not the way he was standing, or the smell. He purposefully puffed out his chest, bared his teeth, and his claws were elongated. That was a sign of possessiveness. I don't know why he hasn't taken her as his mate. Not our business,” Dax huffed.

Dax then ignored the conversation; his nose in the air, scouting the area for more Bears. Not that any would dare come into the lion's den, well, Wolf pack.

"Then why not tell her? Does she know?" I pushed. Dimitri shrugged his shoulders again. "Don't go snooping; mates are funny business, and Wolves of Earth may do things differently. Back home, in Bergarian, we take makes seriously; they are more liberal here. I've heard of packs rejecting their mates and mating themselves off with a chosen mate to combine forces with another pack. It's frowned upon at home. Earth realm doesn't have the protection the Bergarian packs do, and many feel they should do it that way." My heart began to hurt for Zoey. I knew she had Trey, and Trey really cared for Zoey, right? Trey didn't protect her from Lonato though as Zoey stepped out of the truck. Didn’t even try.

We pulled up to the packhouse; warriors were already outside waiting, including the Beta. He ordered the omegas or the smaller Wolves to escort Zoey and Trey to their family's homes so they couldn't even stay in the packhouse.

"I'll see you at dinner. I will call mom and tell her I found you and you are alright. We have a lot to talk about," Zoey eyed my men up and down, and I pushed her away in fake jealousy. She wouldn't do that to me. While laughing, Lonato watched Zoey with his fists clenched.

"This is going to be bad, isn't it?" I whispered to Dax. Dax was already standing in front of me, baring his teeth.

"Bambi, don't," I whispered. Lonato's head perked up.

"Bambi??" He roared out a burst of laughter, dropping his fists. "Did you just call him Bambi?"
