Suron took a large breath in, “she’s beautiful.” Seraphina smiled, holding the child to her chest. “Would you like to hold her?” Suron hesitated. He wanted desperately to hold her, and he wasn’t sure why. This feeling to protect her, to hold her, was strong and he could not understand. He thought it may be his protective instincts to help raise a helpless baby, but it was strange.
Walking forward, he picked up the baby. Penelope clutched to his chest, nuzzling into his stiff body.
Clara walked in along with Kane, who trailed behind her like a little puppy. Her eyes instantly went to Suron, looking at her new granddaughter. Her eyes softened, putting her hand on Kane’s arm.
“Just like Kit was with Evelyn,” she mind-linked Kane. Her mate growled low, not liking the situation.
“Kit was different. There wasn’t such a large age gap.”
“Age is but a number, you know that,” Clara tried to soothe Kane.
“And he is a Vampire,” grumbled Kane. He still had a hardened heart against the Vampires who abducted Clara when they were first together. Then the war, the war sealed the deal of never trusting them again.
“Kane, not one race is all evil, you know this. Suron is the sweetest.” Kane just pulled Clara closer to his side, inhaling her scent.
“We will have to send him away when she becomes a teenager. I don’t want any accidents,” Kane grumbled.
“I agree, besides Melody and Evelyn will want to have their own children, too. He will be needed elsewhere as the royal nanny.”
Dimitri and Dax bent low, so their mother can kiss their cheeks. Clara dares not to tell her sons the look she saw in Suron’s eyes as he rocked the baby in a nearby chair. Dax would be furious and Suron’s wish would certainly come true of forcing a shift on one of her boys.
“Thanks for coming, mom,” Dimitri clung to his mother.
“Of course, we wouldn’t miss this momentous day,” she smiled. Also, finding out your daughter is mated to her nanny, made my morning. She thought.
Many people came in throughout the day to congratulate the happy family. Seraphina’s mother and father came in, along with their son, Seraphina’s brother. Tally had the infamous bright red hair, a stocky body type, just like his father that will turn to muscle in years to come. Devin and Tally, as Seraphina predicted, became the best of friends, constantly running through the forests of the Crimson Shadow territory, wreaking havoc among the forest creatures.
Before Savannah had Tally, both her and Folen traveled to the Earth realm and sought out her first two children. Amelia, who was sold off to a Russian mafia don as his bride, was actually a Vampire. He was being forced to marry for his image and thank the gods that her daughter was actually the Vampire’s mate or beloved. They were madly in love, even with Savannah trying to pull her daughter to the side to make doubly sure that this was what she wanted.
Armond who was to take over the family business from his father, did just that. He took it over, but flipped it into everything his father hated. He donated to multiple charities to raise money for human trafficking, donations to wildlife preserves and finally ending up just as an investor with his left-over funds. The woman he was forced to marry was given the option for a divorce, which she did take. Armond never put a hand on her, and they had lived separate lives from the beginning.
Now Savannah had a whole new idea, and that was to eventually bring her son to Bergarian and see if he could find a mate since now it was running in the family.
Warriors and their families at the pack had never been happier. Loving how Seraphina was not just a Luna who stayed indoors, but ventured out wanting to train along with them. The area’s foliage grew immensely. The trees looked healthier, and stronger and tended to any Wolf that needed a shade from the bright light sources in the sky.
“Mimi, can we go get ice cream?” Devin broke the silence of the room as they gazed at the adorable baby Elf. Kane came over to Devin, stealing him from Seraphina. Kane propped him up on his shoulder, holding on to him tightly as he began to leave the room.
“I’ll get you ice cream, and maybe a run through the woods?” Devin screamed excitedly.
“With Torin!?” Kane gave a large belly laugh. “Of course. He has missed you the past few days.” Devin screamed loudly, ordering his papa to go faster.
Another couple came to the door as Kane and Clara left. It was Zoey and her mate, Lonato. Zoey was rounded with a child, expecting her own little Werewolf in a month.
“Zoey!” Seraphina cried. Zoey ran to the bed, embracing her first real friend. They held on for the longest time.
“I’m so glad you are here,” Seraphina sniffed. Zoey and Lonato, shortly after the infamous Luna, Alpha and pack transference ceremony, went back to Earth. Lonato stayed training warriors for the next four years and properly courted Zoey. Once they mated, she experienced her first heat six months later and fell pregnant.
“We have some great news,” she whispered. Seraphina’s head perked up at Zoey’s shoulder. “We are moving into your pack, that is, if you will have us.” Seraphina’s bright smile lit up the room, and branches from the nearby open windows crept into the room, wondering what had made Seraphina’s already cheerful mood now more joyous.
“Of course! When do you want to be inducted? Right now? You can’t change your mind now that you have said it. That would be rude,” Seraphina forced out. Lonato stood behind Zoey, worried about her flamboyant movements around his pup, pulling Zoey back. He lovingly caressed her belly, kissing her mark.
Alpha Kane said Lonato’s training skills were impeccable. “In fact,” Zoey glanced backward to Lonato. “Your mates invited him to be Beta!” Seraphina began to sob. Dimitri and Dax rushed to her, worried for her wellbeing.
“I’m just so happy,” she cried. Dax pulled her into his embrace, a worried look etched in his perfect features.
“It’s normal,” Dimitri mouthed to Dax, who shrugged his shoulders and rubbed her back.
Zoey walked towards Suron, who was holding baby Penelope with the utmost care. “Oh, wouldn’t it be wonderful,” Zoey spoke offhandedly. “If our baby and Penelope were mates?” Suron’s eyes shot up to meet Zoey’s, but she was too busy cooing over the baby to notice.
