“Are you alright, your father and I felt your distress and then excitement?” Mom came in, looking at the three of us huddled together. Mom and dad were also staying in the pack house for a few months. Dad wanted to spend time with me and mom all together as a family. We had eaten almost every meal together and dad took us on small adventures while my mates worked into their new roles.

“Mom, I’m pregnant!” I jumped up to hug her. My mom wrapped her arms around me, laughing. Dad laughed too, rubbing his forehead nervously.

“What’s wrong?” Dax asked, noticing the mood of the room shifting.

“I’m pregnant too!” mom said excitedly.

All the men in the room went silent as mom and I jumped up and down. “I’m going to be a big sister. Did you hear that Bambi and Thumper?” Dad laughed, covering it with a cough. “They can grow up together and be playmates!”

“That’s great.” Dimitri rubbed my back, kissing my forehead.

“This pack house will just get a little bit more love in it,” Dax pulled me into his embrace.

“Yeah, it certainly will,” I smiled.

Epilogue

Under the Moon

Thepatteringofnakedfeet hit the marbled floor with a bang. The slap of skin hitting and leaving the floor became louder and louder in the rooms down the hall. A shrill escaped the pup’s lips as it neared the end of the hallway. Heavy pants, sweat dripping down its brow, heartbeat speeding up by every minute. “No, no, no,” he panted, finally reaching for the high decorative doorknob in front of him.

Suddenly, the lights went out in the hallway. Only one emergency light hung at the other end of the hall. “Uh, oh,” escaped the tiny pink lips. Wiggling the door handle again, a rush of wind flew past, waving the unruly hair wildly.

Deciding another route was needed, the pup crept to the floor, hiding behind the abundant exotic plants that decorated each hallway. Hiding behind the largest potted plant, the breathing slowed while holding its legs to its chest.

“He’s going to get me,” the pup whispered.

Heavy clicking of shoes invaded the tiny ears. Holding its breath, it continued to hug its tiny arms around its knees. A large sniff came from the nose of the predator as it neared. The pup, closing its eyes tightly, as if to fade into the dense foliage of the plant, was then picked up by the collar of the predator.

A large squeal of laughter came from the pup.

“Found you!!” Suron gripped hold of the four-year-old boy. The boy laughed hysterically, hugging Suron.

“You always find me! It isn’t fair!”

“Ah, but your Wolf's senses haven’t come in yet, Devin. Once you train with your fathers you will be able to not only dodge me, but beat me to a bloody pulp!”

“You really think so?!” His pine green eyes lit up like the light sources of Bergarian.

“I know so! Now come on, I believe you have a sister to meet!” Suron threw the young pup over his shoulder. The future Alpha of the Crimson Shadows Pack.

After the party, Suron had a feeling he should stay in Bergarian rather than go back to his former coven at Black Raven. Clara, Queen of the Moon Kingdom, had the same feeling as well. She had fallen for the cute charms, the laughter he would bring her, and wanted him to stay in the castle and give him a job. Suron was reluctant, but one day Clara saw his love for children as he saw him play with King Osirus younger children at the reception. Osirus wanted him for himself so Melina could have a break, but Suron felt the need to stay with Clara. Who wouldn’t?

The idea struck her: he would become a nanny to her grandchildren. Suron’s bright personality shone through more, excited about the job. He loved children; he loved the laughs, the innocence, and the worry-free attitudes. It was perfect for him.

Suron’s first job was to help take care of Devin, Seraphina’s first child. When Seraphina had Luna duties, Suron would take care of the baby who took to him immediately. Suron had become part of the family quickly, even with Dax’s reluctance.

Suron continued many tricks to try to force shift on Dax, but had failed every time.

The duo opened the ornate door handle poor Devin tried to open. A gentle knock with Suron’s icy fingers tapped the door, his eyes to meet Seraphina in bed, holding a pink swaddling blanket. Her mates were on either side, cooing at the little Elf she held in her arms. The tiny baby girl was so small, fitting the right genetics for an Elven baby.

“Devin, Suron,” Seraphina’s voice was hoarse. She grunted through the entire labor, trying not to scream and frighten her son, who was somewhere else in the pack house.

“Mummy!” Suron hopped on the bed, scooting towards his mother. His tiny hand pulled down the swaddled blanket, showing a tuft of bright red hair. The floral arrangements in the room let off a sweet smell. Even the lavender seemed stronger as the baby continued to sleep.

“Mummy, what’s her name?” Devin’s dark hair, just like their father’s, covered his eyes. He refused to cut it. He wanted to be like his Papa Kane, whose hair was down to his shoulders when not held up by a tie.

“Well,” Seraphina looked at both of her mates. They nodded, ready to reveal the name they had all collectively decided on. “We decided, Penelope.”
