Lucas

I am so torn.On the one hand, I need to help my friend though his darkest hour but Ella needs me and to be honest, I need her more than I realized. I can’t ignore the fact my heart aches when she isn’t in my arms and after what she went through today, it’s instinctive to want to hold her, soothe away her worries and make everything better.

As soon as Adam went to freshen up, I was off in search of her. I just want to hold her, reassure her, and make her agree to never leave my side. Every nightmare I ever had came back to haunt me today and yet we made it, we survived, which tells me not to waste another minute of our lives. If I’m sure of anything it’s that and Ella and me were destined to be together and I’m not one to go against destiny and I hope she feels the same.

After a while, we sit on the bed wrapped in robes and just hold hands, thinking about what just happened.

“Will Adam be ok?” Her soft worried voice makes me smile and I nod. “I’ll make sure of it.”

“And us?” She sounds nervous which I hate and I pull her hard against me and say fiercely, “I will do everything in my power to keep you safe.”

She hesitates and I pull her face to mine and see the anxiety in her eyes and I say firmly, “I’m afraid things have changed.”

“In what way?” She bites her lip nervously and I groan. “I’m not letting you go, ever. You now have a life sentence with me because the thought of you leaving is not one I’m ever going to face.”

“You’re a bit sure of yourself, aren’t you?”

A little of the old fire returns, accompanied by a soft smile, and my heart settles. “I am.”

“What if I don’t want to stay, I do have a life, you know?”

“Oh yes, I forgot, what was his name, Santa something?”

“Kenny.” She giggles, and the sound of it is something I would pay all my billions to hear again.

“That’s right, Kenny Santa. Maybe you should tell your sister about him.”

“I already have.”

“She obviously thinks he sounds like a deadbeat; we have that in common at least.”

“Why do you say that?”

“Because she is trying to set you up with a fucking dentist. What’s the matter, doesn’t she trust your judgment?”

“No.” She grins wickedly. “You see, I’ve got a track record of choosing the wrong man. Heartbreakers, fuck boys and men with no morals or standards. Men who cheat, men who lie, and men who treat me like shit. Maybe she’s staging an intervention for my own good because I can’t be trusted to choose my own destiny.”

“Then allow me to choose it for you.”

I lower my lips to hers and love the way they feel against mine. Like coming home, perfection and every happy ending in history. She moans against my lips and I feel my cock throbbing with an urgent need and yet she’s been through so much today, only a bastard would force her into something she’s not ready for.

“Fuck me, Lucas.” Apparently, nobody told Ella that and with a feral growl, I push her robe from her body and lower my lips to taste her neck. I suck and love the moans that escape from her luscious mouth and as I lower her down onto the bed, she pushes my own robe from my shoulders and says with an urgency I love, “I need you inside me right now.”

“Now who’s the one calling the shots?”

I laugh as her legs wrap around my waist and she growls, “Stop talking and start fucking.”

“Your wish is my command, my queen.”

As I thrust inside the woman I love, I feel so many emotions it surprises me. I never knew it could be so good, a meeting of minds, souls and dreams. The king has found his queen, and she is magnificent. As I climax with an intensity I’ve never felt before, her own orgasm meets mine and we come down from the glorious high together. Lucas and Ella will become the Casino King and Queen, gambling royalty that will reign for a very long time, and now it’s important we get to the bottom of the reason that brought us together.

This hasn’t ended, it’s just the beginning but one thing’s for sure, I’m doing it with Ella by my side.

As I pull out, I stare into her gorgeous eyes and see the pure love shining out and say with more feeling than I’ve felt before, “I love you, Ella Quinn, will you marry me?”

I already know my answer as her lip quivers and her eyes burn brightly. “I thought you’d never ask.”

As we kiss to cement the deal, I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy in my life. From out of darkness came so much light it blinds me, and as I contemplate a life with my soul mate, I offer a vow to make her the happiest woman alive.
