“Let’s eat,” Adren called.
They made their way to the table and Eldon took a seat with the rest of them. He wasn’t rude. Sure, he might not be able to enjoy human food but he could still enjoy watching the others eat.
“Man, this is delicious, what kind of bread is this?” Gamble asked. The others went for it.
“It’s a Havenwood speciality. Pearl bread; it’s made of the flower petals you saw coming into the city,” Arden said.
It was nice hearing the dragon talk about his home. Arden was closed off for so long that it always felt like pulling teeth to get the smallest detail about himself out of him. Eldon smiled, enjoying the chatter around him, taking in everyone’s expressions and the way they interacted together. They’d each had their own moments separately but being together was proving to be what they all needed to cross those lines of emotional intimacy. For a short while, Eldon thought it would only be physical between some of them, but now sitting there surrounded by the men he’d grown attached to, he knew he should have seen the signs for what they were.
They were all connected.
Micha continued to steal glances at Eldon as he ate. The nephilim was cute, all nervous waiting for Eldon to sink his fangs into him.
“Oh just do it already!” Spooky shouted.
“Spooky,” Arden said.
The familiar tossed his arms up and went back to eating his breakfast. Micha on the other hand was fidgeting in his seat. His heart rate hadn’t slowed down and it was driving Eldon insane.
All he could hear was the thumping of Micha’s heart; it was practically begging him to come closer.
“You keep looking at him like he’s juicy steak,” Bash pointed out.
Eldon blinked, not realizing he’d been staring so hard. But the idea of tasting a nephilim made him drool; they were just as rare and aloof as dragons. Eldon would be experiencing something vampires only dreamed of. But it was more than that. Micha himself had volunteered and Eldon wanted so badly to make it good for him.
Micha placed his fork down and looked up at Eldon. The determination in his gaze was both endearing and a turn on. Eldon didn’t help him; he waited for Micha to say what he wanted.
“You can, um, eat now,” Micha said.
A slow smile pulled at the corners of Eldon’s lips. He was up in seconds, making his way around the table. He felt every single one of their gazes on him as held out his hand for Micha.
The nephilim placed his hand in Eldon's; there was a slight tremor to it and Eldon bent down and placed a kiss on his knuckles. “Nervous?”
Micha nodded so hard Eldon was worried he’d hurt himself.
Eldon pulled Micha close before taking the seat he’d vacated. Placing Micha on his lap, Eldon turned Micha to the others.
“You didn’t eat enough,” Eldon said.
Bash was the first one up and scooted his seat closer to them. He scooped up some eggs and offered it up to Micha.
“You eat and I’ll eat,” Eldon said as he swiped some of Micha’s hair to the side.
He waited until the nephilim took the offered fork full of eggs before the vampire opened his mouth and allowed his fangs to drop. Lust and hunger swirled in the pit of his stomach.
Eldon scraped his fangs over Micha’s flesh. The nephilim tensed and Eldon kissed him instead of biting down.
“Calm down.”Kiss. “You know I would never hurt you.”Kiss. “Right?”
Micha shivered and Eldon couldn’t contain the smile it caused.
“Yes,” Micha said in a breathy moan.
Something in Eldon relaxed even further knowing that Micha trusted him. He tilted Micha’s head to the side, cradling it in one hand and the other wrapped around his waist. Eldon opened his mouth and pressed his fangs against Micha’s flesh; he waited for the nephilim to take a deep breath before applying pressure.
His fangs slid in with ease and as the first drip of Micha’s blood touched his tongue, Eldon swore he saw stars. His moan was muffled by Micha’s flesh as he pulled more into his mouth. The sweet taste of Micha’s blood was unlike any he’d had before. Where Arden’s sent shocks along his tongue, Gamble’s had a hint of smoke, Bash’s was rich and spicy, Spooky’s was sweet and sour, but Micha’s was like fresh air. If Eldon didn’t know any better, he’d swear he was flying.
Slowly Eldon pulled his fangs out, all sound and awareness rushing back to him. He’d never lost himself in a feeding like that before. But it continued to happen with the men around him.
