Micha turned back just in time to see another dragon the same color as Arden roared as they clashed together. Claws and teeth aimed with the intent to take the other down.

“Ezra,” Anaya said as she ran toward them. She was covered in wounds and drenched in blood. Her hair was more red than white. “My boys.”

“What is he doing? He knows when Arden gets this lost there is no stopping him,” Justice said.

Micha watched in horror as Arden tore into Ezra’s shoulder as the other dragon roared and took to the sky, Arden went after him.

“What is he doing?” Eldon asked.

Micha’s heart felt permanently stuck in his throat as he watched the horror. Lighting struck randomly against the ground making the earth shake. It was almost as if Arden was getting worse. He was blind to everything around him. Most of the enemy were gone or dead.

So much death.Micha shuddered, it was his fault. He wasn’t strong enough to know that Janek had been using him or strong enough to warn Arden ahead of time. The tears threatened to start again but the nephilim pushed them back.

“He’s leading him away,” Anaya said. Her voice was barely over a whisper.

“Leading him where?” Gamble asked. “Why the fuck do you look so reserved? He better be bringing Arden back.” The witch wavered on his feet and blood steadily dripped down his arm. His naturally brown skin was ashen.

Micha glanced around the group as they stared up at the sky.

“Gamble, come on I can go up there and get him,” Spooky said.

“That’s risky,” Anaya said.

“I don’t give a fuck,” Spooky growled.

Gamble coughed and blood splattered as he nodded but nothing happened to Spooky. He shifted but it was to a panther and nothing more.

Eldon turned. “Take us up there, please.”

Justice’s face dropped. “I can’t.”

“Why?” Bash growled. “If it was your mate you wouldn’t hesitate.”

She nodded. “You’re right I wouldn't. I would die with Mya but I know Arden wouldn’t want that for you. For any of you.”

“Fuck what he wants,” Gamble coughed out. He was looking worse and worse. “I have to yell at him. And tell him he’s a piece of shit.” He audibly swallowed. His eyes fluttered closed and a look of pure agony marred his handsome face. “I have to piss him off, trap him in illusions, and watch him spin in circles.”

Spooky dropped to the ground mewling as he went from a panther to a cat.

“What is happening?” Eldon asked.

“We are bonded if I die—” Gamble reached for Spooky with trembling fingers.

Bash let out a desperate cry and Micha got off his lap as the bear went to Gamble and Spooky. They couldn’t die. Not when they all had finally come together. Even if Micha was to be pushed out he wanted them to be happy.

“Get over here now and see to their injuries,” Justice yelled. She kneeled near them and lifted Gamble’s head and applied pressure to his wound. “How in the hell was he standing?”

“Gamble! Spooky!” Eldon shouted.

The sky lit up with lightning and thunder clashed hiding the gruesome fight between the two dragon brothers above.

Micha glanced over at the guys and up again. He knew what he had to do. Grabbing his wing Micha sucked in a deep breath and rebroke the wing and realigned it. The nephilim swallowed back the scream the pain tried to drag out of him. He’d done it plenty of times before. But this time Micha wasn’t doing it after being beaten and shoved into the closet. He was putting himself back together to save the man who opened his arms and home up to Micha even when he shouldn’t have.

Standing up on shaky legs, Micha looked up to the sky.

“Micha, what are you doing?” Eldon asked. His grey eyes roamed over Micha. His brows dipped and Micha wished he could kiss the vampire.

“Fixing my mistake,” Micha smiled at them. “I am really happy I got to be with all of you.” He glanced at Spooky and Gamble. “Hold on, I'm going to bring him back to you, to all of you. I promise.” He extended his wings. White hot pain shot through him as the nephilim took to the sky.
