The moment they passed the threshold of Jaygen’s door, Porter let out a sigh, one eye cracked open while the other was already swelling shut.

Ozni laid Porter on the bed and placed the human in between his legs. He couldn’t let him go just yet. Foi whimpered from the foot of Jaygen’s bed before he jumped up. Foi cuddled up next to them and his wet nose slid over Ozni’s wrist and rested on Porter.

“Jaygen’s going to be angry,” Porter said after a second.

Foi licked Porter's hand, making him sigh and relax further against Ozni. He wanted nothing more than to erase what happened from Porter's memory. Just as the thought tried to take root Cy stumbled into the room and a cry caught in his chest as he stared down at Porter. His watery gaze flitted up to Ozni and he wanted nothing more than to grab the incubus and comfort him too. But Ozni was barely holding it together. Porter’s blood was drawing out his hunger the longer they sat together, but he didn’t want to leave him. Porter was fragile and he’d gone through so much at the hands of someone who should have been protecting him.

“Cy,” Porter said. He tried to sit up but Ozni stopped him. The human was entirely too hurt to be moving around already. He wasn’t like them, he was delicate.

The incubus was at the bed in a second. “Porter, don’t move, shit. You’re still bleeding.”

His concerned gaze skated over to Ozni and he tried to give the incubus a smile but he knew his shifted teeth would show so instead he just gave a curt nod. He was fine, for now.

Cy seemed to take that for now and he instantly went to the cabinet Jaygen kept stocked with medicine. He rooted around looking for the oils and poultices the tiger shifter kept stored away.

The door opened once more and Jaygen walked in.“Cy, stop fretting and strip Porter down.”

Instantly, everyone relaxed. Porter let his head drop back against Oz’s chest and Cyrus wasn’t tripping over his own two feet. It was as if they all knew that Jaygen taking charge was for the best. He would handle it; he would help them all figure out what to do when everything seemed to be turned upside down.

“Mutt, if you are going to stay that way then make yourself useful and let Porter lay on you while Cyrus applies the oil to him.” His ice cold gaze landed on Ozni and he knew the tiger shifter could see every crack in his armor.

“Ozni,” Jaygen called for him and moved to the furthest corner from the bed. Everyone in there besides Porter would still be able to hear anything they said but it was still the gesture that counted.

“You need to eat, I can go with you,” Jaygen started.

Ozni shook his head. “No, stay with Porter. He needs you, especially with everything that just happened.” He wanted to add that he wanted to stay too. Oz wanted to be needed.

Jaygen stared at him for a long while, his eyes practically penetrating Ozni’s soul. “Come back here the moment you are done eating.”

The daywalker said nothing. He wasn’t making any promises.

“Ozni,” Jaygen said sternly.

He didn’t want to argue; he understood in theory what Foi and Jaygen were always trying to get him to see about himself but all Ozni saw was a bloodthirsty monster. One that needed to be kept at arm’s length.

Ozni found himself moving, his mind clear of all thought as he climbed out of the bed where Porter lay on Foi now. Cyrus already had him undressed and bruises were starting to form on his tan flesh.

Ozni pressed his lips together as he bent over and went to kiss Porter's forehead. The human moved and before Ozni’s brain caught up to what was happening, their lips pressed together.

“Thank you,” Porter whispered.

There was a strong urge raging through Ozni to kiss the sweet human again and deepen it. To lick the droplets of blood that slid down Porter’s chin. He forced the need down and took a step away from the temptation to stay with all of them.

“I’ll save you every time,” Ozni declared.

The soft smile he received almost broke down every wall he had but Ozni knew he needed to stay back; there needed to be some distance at all times.

He turned on his heels and left the room without so much as a backward glance. He made it to his room, tossing the door open before he grabbed a blood pack. But Ozni already knew he’d need flesh. Still he drank the blood that he didn’t really have a taste for. No, he wanted something so much more delicate.Porter's blood.

He growled low and forced himself to not think such things. He felt the incubus before he so much as said anything. Ozni was always aware of Cy.Always

"Cyrus, get out now," Ozni shouted. His hunger was riding him hard. His nails had grown and his eyes had already shifted, blackness covering every bit of his irises. His monster was ready to attack.

"No Oz, I can help you," Cy declared.

The vampire was losing the battle; all the raw violence inside of him was boiling to a point of no return. He turned to yell at Cy but everything went red for a second and as he blinked away the haze, he had Cy pinned against the wall, a hand around his throat, nails embedded in his soft flesh and crimson liquid dripping down his body.

Ozni watched transfixed by the blood, his hunger causing his stomach to clench and, because of whose blood it was, his cock to harden with desire.
