“Oh, come on, baby, let me see what’s under that towel. I know you would love nothing more than for me to suck your cock for breakfast. It’s been too long,” she whines as she grabs for his towel.
I know that voice.
“Get. The fuck. Out. Holly,” he spits as he grabs her by the arm and drags her to the elevator.
Oh shit, it’s Holly. The weird receptionist from the hotel in the Lakes.
“Ah-hem.” I cough. There is no way I’m standing here watching this shit show without being acknowledged.
North spins round and nearly loses the towel he is holding onto with his life. Holly, on the other hand, laughs and points. I know I look like shit, but there is no fucking need for that. She should be ashamed of herself.
“What are you doing here?” I ask.
“Bringing North his breakfast treat, what does it look like?” She smiles back, cocking her head.
“So, you have delivered breakfast. Now, you need to go,” I state as I walk over to North and position the towel for him. “You can leave this with me.” I wink at him.
“Oh, thanks, Princess” he walks away looking over his shoulder. He knows I’m not adverse to a little violence when needed. I don’t like bullies, and I hate sluts even more.
“So, Holly, when that elevator door opens, you are going to get in it, and you are never, and I meannever, going to come up here again. Do you fully understand?” I ask calmly.
She laughs, she fuckinglaughsback at me.
“Oh, dear girl, you think you’re special, don’t you? You do know why you’re here, don’t you?”
I nod. “Yes, of course I do,” I lie. I haven’t got a clue what she’s talking about, but I have a feeling she is going to tell me anyway.
“Oh good. I was wondering when you would fall from grace and end up in North’s Shag Pad.”
The bell dings, the door opens, and in she steps.
My mouth is moving, but no words are coming out.
As the doors close, she shouts. “I’ll see you at our normal time next week, sweetheart.”
I lunge for her, but the doors are already closed.
Bile rises in my throat.
This fucking penthouse is North’s fucking Shag Pad, and he brought me here to make up with me.
I am such a fucking fool.
I grab my clothes from the floor where we left them last night and dress as fast as I can, grab my purse and my jacket, and press the button for the lift.
Come on, come on, come on. I pray, but it doesn’t come.
North appears behind me, dressed in jeans and a tight T-shirt. Hot as hell.
“Going somewhere, Kara?” His voice is deep and dark, and his eyes are angry. So angry, he is scaring me a little and turning me on at the same time. Shit, he is a bomb when he’s mad.
“Well, erm, yeah actually, I am. I don’t want to be here a minute longer in your Shag Pad, actually.”
“My what?” He laughs. The first boom-laugh I’ve heard in so long. “My Shag Pad?” He cries. “Fucking hell, Kara, we need to have a good chat about my sexual encounters in the last month.” He is still laughing, but it’s changed.
“This used to be a place I would stay when I was in town. Just like West had his apartment. But the day I met you, I left here, and last night was the first time I have been back. This was never my bloody Shag Pad. This was my home. I have not even looked at another woman since that day we met with the exception of that unfortunate incident with Alicia. I swear to you.”
“So, who was the blonde yesterday, then?”
