“How long until the repairs are done?”

“Almost there, a month tops.”

“What’s left to pay?”

“Two grand.”

“Consider it paid.”

“Sorry what?” Bill says as Beast huffs out a breath and Malakai frowns.

“I’m paying off Malakai’s bill. Get the boat fixed. You’ve got three weeks.”

“It would’ve been cheaper to shoot him in the head,” Beast grumbles as I hang up.

Ignoring his remark, I concentrate on Malakai. “Two grand to fix your boat. Thirty grand for you to find out where the King is hiding. You’ve got until your boat is fixed. If you fail, I'll burn your boat to the ground and let Beast do whatever the fuck he wants to you in the basement.”

Malakai nods. “Consider it done.”

“One last thing,” I say as he strides towards the door.

“Yes?”

“The only people who were in this office before you arrived were me and Beast. That kid has nothing to do with any of this.”

“What kid?” he replies, then pulls open the door and strides from the room.
