Chapter Two
Two days later
Never have a dull moment, huh? Hadley stared out of the large window, bored out of her freaking mind. Also, she was nervous. All alone in a very beautiful, very expensive hotel, and it was making her really, really, nervous. So much so that all she did was sit around waiting. Easton had been in a meeting for the past two days, and she wasn’t allowed to leave the hotel room. She could have anything she wanted, so long as she was waiting for him in their hotel room.
What kind of guy had a twenty-four hour meeting?
Seriously?
She was so damn bored. There weren’t enough books for her to enjoy, or enough television for her to watch because that had never interested her. What didn’t help was how her own mind wandered. She couldn’t stop thinking about why she was there, what she was supposed to do. Never had she slept with a man she had just met, and she didn’t know this guy.
Sipping at her coffee, she stared out across the city, and wondered what everyone was doing. Were there lovers out there who were heading home for the night to enjoy a nice load of sex? She wasn’t even getting sex. Waiting up for him, she would end up crashing on the bed, and then waking up in the same position as normal. What would it be like to be naked with him? To accept him without even knowing if she liked him or not? There were so many questions, and yet nothing seemed to settle her nerves.
Easton had told her that if she needed anything then all she needed to do was ask Arnold, his secretary.
She didn’t know how that helped seeing as Arnold was with Easton in this very important meeting.
When she finished her coffee, she made her way toward the small kitchen, and stared at the small, basic space. It only housed a tiny fridge, and a hot kettle. There was no cooker, no oven, and she had to order everything from room service, which she hated. The menus were a nightmare, and all she wanted was a burger.
Stop your moaning.
You’re not homeless.
You’re not out of a job.
This was what he wanted her to do. He wanted her to wait for him, and that was exactly what she was doing. She was waiting.
She still had to be part of a job though, and that was some scary shit to think about. Easton was going to arrive soon, and with it, she was going to have to have sex with him, and even if she was entirely new to this, she was actually a little excited. She had never been the kind of girl to sleep with a guy immediately, or to even allow him to have all the control. This was entirely new to her.
What would happen when he finally came home?
Pouring herself another coffee, she blew out a breath, and went back to staring out across the city. The sun set, and she didn’t know how much time passed, but she was drawn out of her thoughts by the door opening. She turned to watch as Easton entered. He was tapping on his phone, and she was shocked to see that he looked perfect.
How could a guy who hadn’t slept in over twenty-four hours still look like he had woken up and was ready to face the day?
He finished his call, and threw his cell phone on the table. She folded her arms, and waited. Easton looked right at her.
“Hello, beautiful,” he said. Placing several keys on the little table, he moved toward her.
Her body tightened, and she hated to admit it. Her pussy went slick. It was like she knew he was about to give her the time of her life.
“Did you finish your work?” she asked, refusing to give in. You have to. This is not a relationship. You have to give him what he wants. What’s your problem? You want to give in. look at him. He’s so damn hot, and he’s helping you when he didn’t have to.
“I abandoned you.”
“You’ve not been here, and I’ve been bored.” She unfolded her arms, and pushed her shirt down to cover her exposed stomach.
Easton stepped close and moved her hands out of the way. He placed his hands on her waist, sliding his fingers beneath the fabric, and he stroked the exposed flesh.
Part of her wanted to shout at him, wanted to tell him to go to hell.
“You’re not having fun.”
“You told me I wasn’t allowed to leave. That is going to have to change.”
“No. I told you. I want you on hand whenever I need you.”
“You’ve been gone over twenty-four hours, and I was bored, like seriously bored.”
